Hawick hotel Hassendean B&B offers wonderful relaxing accommodation with fresh new amenities.

It is a stones throw from Melrose, Denholm, Jedburgh and Hawick and is the perfect alternative to busy cities. Set in the Ruberslaw and Minto hills, with panoramic views of the Borders the location offers a peaceful calm rural setting.

You can take an early morning walk or pack your clubs and head for nearby Minto golf course with its 18 holes and superb views.

Hassendean Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Our mid-terraced converted farm cottage has two rooms designed for ultimate comfort, and off road parking. Fluffy duvets adorn our new full-sized mattresses. Each room has an en suite shower, television, DVD and complimentary tea, coffee and toiletries.

Breakfast
Enjoy our traditional home cooked Scottish or continental breakfast with homemade bread in our cosy breakfast room. Peruse the wall-to-wall bookshelves and DVD library, or just come down to read. This room is dedicated to your needs.

We have a no smoking and no pets policy.

We are happy to welcome you anytime after 4.00pm, or earlier by prior arrangement. We ask you to vacate your room by 10.00am (11.00am on Sundays), and return any borrowed books or DVD's to the breakfast room.

Activities
There are many types of activities too numerous to occupy a single page.

Cycling
The photographs in the slide show above are of the Tour of Britain 2009 as it passed by the front garden of our B&B. We welcome cyclists to stay with us and are within a short cycling distance of the
4 Abbeys Cycleway and the ‘Borderloop‘ a 250 mile circular route around the Scottish Borders.

We are within a few miles of the ‘Coast and Castles‘ and the Tweed cycle routes. We have secure, off-road parking with outdoor washing facilities for bikes, and indoor drying facilities for wet clothing.

Golfing
Golfers are very welcome at Hassendean B&B, where we are centrally placed with easy access to all Border golf courses. We can prearrange tee times for guests prior to arrival, and have information on Freedom of the Fairways and the Bunkered discount scheme (two play for the price of one) and can provide assistance in all areas.

We offer:

. An outside area for cleaning clubs, shoes etc

Motor Biking
Photographs above show the 2010 Hizzy Bike Ride meeting up on Denholm Village Green which is 1.5 miles from our B&B.

Bikers are welcome at Hassendean Bed and Breakfast. We offer a rural stop off before heading North or South, with off road, secure parking and drying facilities for wet kit. Our mid-terraced converted farm cottage has a twin and a double room with en suite shower facilities.

A television/DVD and complimentary tea, coffee and toiletries are provided in each room, and we have an infrared sauna to help to ease aching muscles after a long ride.

We are open all year except Christmas and New Year.

Location
The village of Hassendean is located 3 miles from Hawick, 2 miles from Denholm and centrally placed for Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle.

Our cottage has open views to Ruberslaw and Minto hills, which both offer spectacular panoramic views of the Borders including the Eildon hills. We are a short drive away from Minto golf course which is a popular 18 hole golf course set on a hill.

There are 1800 miles of easily accessible walking routes in the area including St Cuthberts Way, The Pennine Way, The Border Abbeys Way and The Southern Upland Way.

We are a popular destination for cyclists and motor bike riders and offer secure off road parking. There is a river (burn) running along the back of our property and in good weather you can enjoy the therapeutic sounds of it gushing along.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:

Leave Hawick on the A7, sign posted to Edinburgh, as you leave the town past the Police, Fire and Ambulance stations take a right turn on the B6359 to Lilliesleaf, we are 3.5 miles along this road on the left hand side.

Getting There by Car:
Travelling from the South follow the instructions as above, from the North go straight on the A7 over the roundabout at Homebase, and take the next left, the B6359 to Lilliesleaf, we are 3.5 miles along this road on the left hand side.

Travelling on the A68 North or South, travel to the village of Denholm. Take the B6405 from Denholm and follow out of the village, past the church, across the bridge, and travel straight for 1.5 miles and follow signs to Hassendean.

Once you have passed under the railway bridge keep going straight and we are round the next two corners on the right hand side.

Getting There by Railway:
The nearest railway station is Berwick upon Tweed.

Getting there by Aeroplane:
Fly to Newcastle or Edinburgh airport and hire a car for the 50 mile journey.
