Located on the Scotland-England border, the Hunters Lodge Hotel is a Grade II Listed Building that was built during the First World War, and has remained in the same family for 24 years.

The hotel accommodation offers modern amenities, and retains much of its original character with all public rooms furnished in a style in-keeping with the age of the hotel.

Ideal for a traditional Scottish wedding. The hotel is privately owned and completely supervised by the owners, this is a business run by people who care. The bar is fully licensed.

Please note that all bedrooms are No-Smoking. We have single, double, twin, family rooms and four-poster bridal suites for that special occasion also facilities for the disabled.

Dining
With effect from 26th March 2006 the Scottish Legislation states that smoking will not be allowed in any public areas.

Meals at the Hunters Lodge Hotel are served in the traditional bar area or in our restaurant. We recommend that you book your table in advance as we are open to non-residents. (Special diets can be catered for by the chef/proprietor Garry.)

EatScotland is backed by Visit Scotland, and we have been inspected and achieved the standards required.

Spend a pleasant evening with us in our lounge bar where you can taste the flavour of Scotland from our wide range of malt whiskies or enjoy one of our specially home cooked meals. If you simply want a relaxing evening we have a private residents lounge with colour television and DVD player. Sit back, relax and unwind.

Please note that if you wish the a la carte menu or the 3 course dinner menu then you are recommended to book your tables in advance.

Situated in the heart of Gretna, Hunters Lodge Hotel is also the closest hotel to the world famous Gretna Registration Office, and close to Anvil Hall. The famous "Blacksmiths" is approximately 5 minutes drive away and many other attractions and activities can be found nearby.


With over 15 years of experience in Gretna weddings, we pride ourselves in being able to give you a personal service for your special day - dealing with Linda & Garry (the hotel proprietors) personally the whole way through the build up to your big day.

Throughout the world, the name of Gretna is synonymous with "runaway weddings". Large or small wedding parties can be catered for (2 to 60 people). Your Scottish wedding day should be one to remember and treasure, and with our help, your Gretna wedding day can be just that.

Attractions
Hunters Lodge Hotel has remained in the same family for 20 years and is a Grade II Listed Building having previously been an Officers Mess during the First World War. Within a short drive is "Devils Porridge", an exhibition which gives an in-depth insight to the history of Gretna during the "Great War".

Situated in the heart of Gretna it is also the nearest hotel to the world famous Gretna Registration Office, and close to Anvil Hall. The famous “Blacksmiths” is approximately 5 minutes drive away.

Hunters Lodge Hotel is an ideal base for a tourist holiday. The Scottish Borders, Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District are all within a short drive.

The beautiful border city of Carlisle is only 15 minutes drive away where you can experience the culture and history of Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral and Tullie House Museum. The newly expanded Gretna Gateway now has over 50 stores including Marks & Spencer’s, Thornton’s, Jane Shilton, Ralph Lauren and Lee Cooper.

DIRECTIONS
From the North:

· Take the turn off for Gretna/Gretna Green junction 22 on the A/M74 and turn left at the roundabout.
· Proceed along the road passing the Hazeldean Hotel.
· Take the first left and pass underneath the A/M74 to the road end with Gretna Hall on the left.
· Turn left.
· Go through the traffic lights and follow the road until the roundabout with Gretna Gateway on the left.
· Take the right hand exit signposted for Gretna Registration Office onto the Annan Road.
· Hunters Lodge sits on the right hand side next door to the primary school.

From the South:
· Take the turn off for Gretna/Gretna Green junction 45 on the M6.
· Turn left.
· Road bends round passing the Gretna Chase Hotel and the Garden House Hotel.
· At the roundabout with Gretna Gateway on the right, take the second left signposted for Annan/Gretna Registration Office onto the Annan Road.
· Hunters Lodge sits on the right hand side next door to the primary school.
