Resident proprietors John and Isabel Scott welcome you to Braids Caravan Park in Romantic Gretna.

With many years of caravanning experience John & Isabel are committed to ensuring your stay is a memorable one and are always on hand to provide guidance & suggestions for a great day out in the Gretna area.

Gateway to Scotland, some 8 miles north of Carlisle, Braids Caravan Park is open all year round. If visiting Gretna, Gretna Green or are looking to explore Dumfries & Galloway in South Scotland, Braids Caravan Park provides the ideal base to discover the many interesting features of the area.

Braids Caravan Park Accommodation

Pitches
Braids Caravan Park offers both grass and hard standing pitches and there are a few Service Pitches on hard standing available with water, grey waste and electric on hand.

We also have Camper/Motor home pitches which are quite level and all of our pitches have electric hook-ups and we have some pitches capable of handling RV's up to 40 feet - please book in advance.

Rally Hut exclusively for ralliers.

Great Facilities
Toilet & Shower Facilities
There are two blocks on the park, one containing a laundry and disabled toilet. Our showers and toilets are cleaned every day and kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Excellent laundry facilities with automatic washing machine, tumble drier and ironing facilities are open from 7.00am to 9.00pm every day.

There is plenty of hot water available, both on tap and for the showers. The latter costing 20p for approximately 7 to 10 minutes. There are hand dryers and hairdryers, the latter again costing 20p.

10 Amp Electrical Distribution Points

We have a high level of security with a barrier operated one way system. On arrival you will be charged a £5 refundable deposit (unless you break/lose your swipe card or lose the toilet key).

Waste disposal points are discreetly positioned around the park. Glass recycling service on site!

Opening Times:
. Winter - 1st October to Easter; 7:00am to 8:00pm
. Summer - Easter to 30th September; 7:00am to 9:00pm

Reception opens; 7am - closes at 9.00pm in summer. (8:00pm in winter). No arrivals after 9pm in summer and 8pm in winter unless by prior arrangement with site.

Superb Service
There are three chemical disposal points and two dishwashing areas and for Camper/Motor Homes we have a fresh water supply point a waste water point and bulk toilet dump. We have an emergency telephone situated behind the reception area and of course John & Isabel are nearly always on hand to give what information they can.

Household items including 3kw electric kettles are not allowed as our pitches are 10amp only.

Note: We do not rent or hire caravans or the bungalow and we have no connections with any other websites other than the sites on our links page.

Pure fresh Spring water from our on-site borehole is provided at all water distribution points throughout Braids Caravan Park in Gretna.

We welcome Rallies and as active caravanners will do our utmost to ensure your visit is a success.

Pet Policy
Braids Caravan Park welcome you to bring along your pets, but dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Note: There is no dog walk on the site.

Activities and Attractions
For Kids
Westlands Activities Centre is a 20 minute drive from Braids and offers fun for all the family.

Galloway Kite Trail
Why not visit the Red Kite Trail while you are at Braids Caravan Park. The trail is 24 miles long approximately and is situated between Castle Douglas (about 43 miles from us) and New Galloway (A713).

For directions to Castle Douglas ask any member of our staff who will be only too pleased to help you. You may even if you are sharp eyed see a Red Kite here on the site.

Chainsaw Carvings
From small sculptural pieces to decorate a mantlepiece, to giant outdoor statues for large gardens and parks.

Information Centre
Situated next to our Reception and is packed full of information on Dumfries & Galloway and Cumbria. As residents, John and Isabel know the area extremely well and can make suggestions for a great day out in the Gretna area.

Beautiful Grounds
The well maintained grounds at Braids Caravan Park in Gretna is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break. The site and the gardens provide great habitat for a wide variety of wildlife & birds. Finches, Robins, Bluetits, Siskins, Yellow Hammers, Doves and Pigeons to name but a few.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:

From Gretna Green leave Tourist centre turn left for Gretna after 500 yards at T junction follow Braids signs.

Getting There by Railway:
From Gretna Green railway station turn right to roundabout, follow Braids signs.

Getting There by Ferry:
From Stranraer take the A75 take 1st sign for Gretna off dual carriage way 1st left onto B721 500 yards on left.
