Grantown on Spey Hotels WillowBank Guest House is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, close to the ski areas of Aviemore and The Lecht. WillowBank Guest House is set in the granite built town of Grantown on Spey.

Willowbank Guest House Accommodation

We have 9 guest bedrooms, 6 en-suite and 3 rooms which have separate bathrooms. Our rooms are furnished in a fresh, contemporary style, with an emphasis placed on cleanliness.

The ground floor has 2 triple en-suites. Both those rooms are suitable for less able guests. The first floor has 3 double and one twin en-suite room.

The rooms with separate facilities are on the second floor, and each has twin beds. We also have fold-up beds which can be placed in certain rooms to accommodate families with small children. We also have a travel cot available for small infants.

Each bedroom is individually furnished and decorated, centrally heated, double glazed with TV and has a hospitality tray.

There is also a spacious, comfortable lounge in Willowbank, where guests can meet and socialize, or sit quietly with a book. We have a small library of books and literature concerning the local area, which guests are encouraged to borrow.

Smoking Policy
WillowBank is a totally Smoke Free Zone, as smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises. This is for the comfort of all our guests

Dining
A leisurely breakfast is served in the spacious Conservatory Dining room which is a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

We always try to use the best of local ingredients in all the food we prepare Free Range Eggs are always on offer from a local farm, the breakfast sausages are hand made locally and we use fresh Scottish Salmon, smoked on Speyside for a truly memorable taste.

Our breakfast offers all the usual choices you will find elsewhere, with a few extras of our own. For those who wish a change from a cooked Scottish breakfast, we offer scrambled eggs with smoked salmon –a very popular choice, porridge, a fresh fruit sundae with yoghurt and for our European travellers, we offer a continental selection of meats and cheeses. Something for everyone.

Attractions
Willowbank Guest House is situated in the Cairngorms National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and one which most visitors will wish to explore and enjoy. The area and its activities are so varied and diverse that there will be something to suit everyone’s taste, whether it be wildlife, distilleries or castles.

Wildlife
The Cairngorms National Park is a mecca for wildlife enthusiasts. Certain flora and fauna can be found nowhere else in the doorstep!

The Anagach woods, a pleasant 5 minute stroll away from Willowbank Guest House, is the home to many creatures that we in the Highlands, take for granted. Roe Deer can be seen along the side of the Kylintra Burn, feasting away on the fresh green shoots in the meadow.

The Crested Tit is a permanent resident in the Anagach woods, along with the Crossbill and Scottish Crossbill. These three species, along with the Dippers, Little Grebe, Sand Martin, Osprey and the rare Capercaille, are why visitors from far afield come to this area.

Castles and Distilleries
If history and tradition, or a wee dram of whiskey are more to your liking, then you are again spoilt for choice.
The Speyside distilleries are on your doorstep, as is the famous Malt Whiskey Trail. Take a tour, sample the whiskies, and maybe take a bottle home to add to your collection.

The area also has some superb castles to explore, including Ballindalloch, Cawdor, and Brodie castles, all with fascinating histories and wonderful grounds to explore. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Outdoor Activities
For the more active visitors, these are a plethora of sporting opportunities, both on land and on water. The River Spey plays host to kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and salmon fishing, whereas dry land offers hiking, rock climbing, pony trekking, clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking, to name but a few. Whatever your ability or inclination, there is something for everyone.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:

On exiting the TIC, turn left, go straight through at traffic lights, down High Street. Willowbank is on the left hand side as you leave the town.

Getting There by Railway:
From Aviemore Station bus service available during day, taxi in evening. Willowbank on left side of High Street as you leave Grantown-on-Spey - Willowbank is the second Guest House on the right near the park.

Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Inverness airport follow signs for A9 (Perth), turn left onto A938 (Carrbridge), then left onto A95 to Grantown-on-Spey.
