Things to do
The Cairngorms National Park is home to many of the UK’s highest mountains and offers spectacular hill walking. The nearby ski resorts of Aviemore and The Lecht provide opportunities for excellent skiing and snowboarding in winter and other activities throughout the year.

Loch Morlich offers a variety of watersports. White water rafting can be found on the Findhorn River and superb salmon and trout fishing are available on the River Spey.

The Speyside whisky distilleries, Balmoral Castle, Loch Ness and the sandy beaches of the Moray coast are all within an hour’s drive.

Grantown-on-Spey
Founded in 1766, Grantown-on-Spey is an attractive Georgian town with a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Situated within the Cairngorms National Park, the town is surrounded by ancient woodland and has wonderful views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Grantown-on-Spey is also the gateway to the Speyside whisky distilleries, and has the sandy beaches of the Moray Firth nearby.

DIRECTIONS
Grantown-on-Spey lies only 35 miles south of Inverness airport which is served by several low cost UK airlines.
The mainline railway station at Aviemore is only 12 miles away and has frequent direct train services to Edinburgh and through to London. Taxis and hire car rental can be arranged from both Inverness and Aviemore. Grantown is 2-3 hours drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
