Fort Augustus is a small village at the southern end of Loch Ness on the Caledonian Canal. The Caledonian Canal, connecting Corpach near Fort William with Clachnaharry in Inverness, was completed in 1822. It is over 60 miles long, but more than two thirds of its length consists of three connected lochs - Loch Ness, Loch Oich and Loch Lochy.

Come to stay in our superbly appointed luxury flat in the magnificent & historic St Benedicts Abbey (now called The Highland Club) located in the centre Fort Augustus, alongside the Caledonian Canal, in the Heart of the Highlands.

The recently renovated Abbey maintains many original features and is situated on the banks of Loch Ness within five minutes walk of the town centre canal, locks, shops, pubs, hotels & restaurants.

In Summer, watch cricket on the pitch across from the flat or have a game of tennis on the private court, all within the Abbey grounds.

Have a drink by the canal, while watching the boats pass through the 5 locks and swing bridge in the heart of town.
Cruise on Loch Ness from the pier just outside the Abbey grounds. Maybe you will see the Monster.
Explore the extensive local path network. Or visit nearby historic Urquhart Castle.

Glen Mor Accommodation

Glen Mor, is flat 15 Raven Wing of the Highland Club, Fort Augustus. It sleeps 2 people (plus 2 on convertible sofa bed) and comprises an open plan living room with kitchen and a double bedroom.
The flat is second floor accessed by stairs so unsuitable for wheelchairs. You will be greeted on arrival and shown round the flat.

Main room: open plan with a carpeted lounge area and a kitchen/dining area with solid oak floor.
Lounge: has full height patio doors opening to a Juliet balcony with a great view of the Glen Mor hills above. The seating comprises a 3 seater sofa bed and leather bucket chair.
Furniture consists of sideboard and TV unit in solid oak with 32” LCD TV and HDMI upscaling DVD player.
Kitchen: fully equipped, with 4 ring gas hob, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, Dualit kettle and toaster, solid oak dining table and 4 chairs.
Bedroom: a king size double bed, 2 bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Mounted on the wall is a 19” LCD TV with built-in DVD player and camera card viewer.

A double fold down sofa bed is located in lounge. Bathroom: has a bath, with overhead shower, wash hand basin and heated towel radiator. All bed linen and towels are provided.
The flat is 490 Sq.ft. with gas central heating, pressurised hot water system & double glazing throughout.

All guests have free use of the Highland Club Leisure facilities which include:
Club Lounge: including full size snooker table, exchange library, board games, table tennis and Wi-Fi connection, lounge seating.

Available in the Abbey Grounds:
- Tennis Court bring balls & racquets.
- Crocquet lawn c/w balls & mallets.
- Barbeque Area by Loch Ness with bbq pits, seating, heaters and anti-midge machine.
- Fishing: rod and lures are supplied.
- Cricket: local team plays occasionally during Summer, on the pitch beside the flat.
- Giant Chess: Play giant chess outdoors in the Abbey quadrangle.
