Falkirk hotel Scottish welcome awaits you at Ashbank. Surrounded by pleasant and private gardens on all sides and quietly situated overlooking the Ochil Hills. Ashbank is a detached stone house built in 1896 on the east side of Falkirk.

Superb panoramic views to the Wallace Monument, Airth Castle and the Ochil Hills and countryside that was made famous in the film ‘Braveheart’. We also have ample private off-street parking.

Ashbank has many original Victorian features including ornamental cornicing, decorative flooring in the hall and an oak fireplace in the dining room and has welcomed guests from all corners of the world.

Your resident hosts, Betty and Bede, have created a warm and friendly atmosphere at Ashbank. Through their Middle-east travels, they have spent many years within a multi-cultural background and offer a wealth of experience.

Although easily accessible by air, rail and road, Ashbank remains a quiet haven in an otherwise busy part of Central Scotland. Within walking distance of Polmont Train Station (courtesy pick-ups) : 3 minutes drive from M9 motorway access/exit and 20 minutes drive from Edinburgh International Airport. We have adequate off-street parking.

Area Attractions
For the more active, Falkirk attracts members of the Rambler's Association and the CTC with cycle hire facilities and many fine walks nearby. The Union Canal and the Falkirk Wheel are only a short distance away, as is the Falkirk Monument and Callendar House.

Falkirk and the surrounding area have plenty of attractions catering for visitors. Callendar House is situated close to the town centre, and the town boasts 2 shopping malls.

The Falkirk Wheel attracts thousands of visitors every year and is the unique link for the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. Ashbank is an ideal touring base in the heart of Central Scotland only a short drive away from the lochs and mountains of the Trossachs.

Visit Linlithgow Palace and Loch which is populated by many different breeds of wildfowl and a leisurely walk round the loch takes you through grazing sheep. Muiravonside Country Park and Beecraigs Country Park are interesting places to visit where you can try your hand at fishing or pass the time of day watching the docile 'heilan' coos!

The international port of Grangemouth is a destination point for many business travellers who find our easily accessed location a plus after a busy day. Grangemouth Stadium hosts many major athletics competitions and the larger hotels play hostS to conferences and weddings.

Our capital city of Edinburgh is 25 minutes away by train and an easy commute from Ashbank. The location in the heart of ‘Braveheart’ country is ideal for east and west coast exploration and just 12 miles from Stirling, the gateway to the highlands.

. Edinburgh airport – 20 minutes
. Glasgow city centre – 30 minutes
. Glasgow airport – 40 to 45 minutes

Polmont Station is on the main railway line between Edinburgh and Glasgow. It takes about 3 minutes to drive to the guest house from the station, or about 12 minutes to walk. Travel times by train include:

. Stirling – 20 minutes
. Edinburgh city centre – 25 minutes
. Glasgow city centre – 30 minutes
. Lifts can be arranged to or from the airport, bus and rail stations.
