Situated in the heart of the city centre, the Edinburgh Thistle Hotel is located in the prestigious, quiet and residential west end area of Edinburgh New Town.
The hotel is central and near to Edinburgh Castle, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) and of course the renowned Princes Street with its vast array of stylish shops and stores.
Just 10 minutes walk from the hotel is the Dean Village, the Dean Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art. Both galleries are set in extensive parkland, where visitors can discover sculpture works by internationally renowned artists. Established in 1924, the hotel has retained most of its original period features, having once been a Georgian Town House.

During your stay, your accommodation will be in one of 11 en-suite rooms. All our hotel bedrooms are elegant, comfortable and spacious. Two of our rooms have a spectacular view of Edinburgh Castle, especially at night when the castle is illuminated.

Manor Lounge Bar
Fully licensed, the Manor Lounge Bar is tastefully decorated to give a
traditional Scottish ambience. Pictorial images portray scenes of Edinburgh
city centre and the Scottish landscape with a Highland Piper mural taking
centre position.
Informal, relaxing and lively on occasion, we cater for local residents and visitors alike. Plenty of comfortable seating is available and you can sample an extensive range of single malt whiskies, spirits, draught and bottled beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks. Tea and coffee is also available throughout the day.
Major live sporting events from around the world can be viewed on our large Cable TV screens. Wi-Fi Broadband is also available from the lounge area.
Manor Suite Dining Room: A good day starts with a great breakfast - whether it's stoking up with a full Scottish breakfast before a long day out or taking your time over what’s on in Edinburgh with croissants, fruit and juices.
It's also probably the last meal you'll have with us before heading home and we know that last impressions can count as much as the first, whilst staying in hotels. All our rates include choice of Full Scottish Breakfast or Continental Breakfast. We serve breakfast in our dining room at the following times:
Breakfast on the Go: To be ordered at reception the night before. Available every day from the reception desk. You may have to leave before our Dining Room opens.Our breakfast on the go is provided in a discreet paper bag and served to take away for those busy people on the move.

The ‘Manor Suite’, a fine Georgian Dining Room, is ideal for

The Thistle Hotel offers an ideal venue for informal yet private meeting, interview or small exhibition room in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre. The room can facilitate up to 12 people Boardroom Style and is located on the 1st floor with great natural light. The room can be hired on a half day or full day basis.
The room is available to hire from 11am until 10pm.
Business Facilities
The Manor Suite, our fine Georgian Dining Room serves as an excellent
business meeting room. Spacious with plenty of light it can accommodate
up to 25 delegates seated and 45 standing. Setup meeting room furniture
and facilities can be arranged as per client instructions.

on request.
. A flip chart, paper and pen are available.
. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day, upon request.
. A small bar in situ, is also available on request with a choice of beverages.

Car Parking
Private Car Parking - Telephone reservations only on a first come, first
served basis. 12 hours / 24 hours at a cost. Street parking is available
with a 'Pay & Display' ticket, giving a maximum of 4 hours parking
between the hours of 08:30 to 18:30, Mon to Sat (Sunday is free) and not
returning to the same parking bay, within 1 hour.
Car parks are available at Haymarket Train Station, Haymarket Yards (just along from the station) and Morrison Link. All are about 10 minutes walk. Free parking is available with a 20 / 25 minute walk back to the hotel.

DIRECTIONS
By Car:
Head for the West End district of the city. The hotel is clearly marked
on our MAP page and we suggest that you print this off. St. Mary's Cathedral
is the nearest landmark if you are approaching from the north.
Other landmarks are the Haymarket Train Station if you are approaching from the west or the Airport and Edinburgh Castle if you are approaching from the east or the south.
By Bus: From Airport / Train Station / Bus Station
From Edinburgh Airport: Airlink buses run a frequent express shuttle service
approximately every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day (in conjunction with Night
Buses - N22) and takes 25 minutes. get off at the Haymarket and it is
a 5 minute walk.
From Waverley Train Station & Edinburgh Bus Station:On Princes Street get any of the following Buses: 3 / 4 / 12 / 25 / 26 / 31 / 33 / 44 and get off just before the Haymarket. Turn right into Manor Place and walk down to the end. Thistle Hotel is on the right-hand side.
By Train: From Waverley & Haymarket Train Stations
Haymarket Train Station at the West End is Edinburgh’s second station
but many of the trains stop here. If your train does stop at the Haymarket,
we are only a 5 minute walk away.
From Waverley Train Station we recommend a short taxi transfer (approx: 5 to 7 minutes) or alternatively walk (approx: 20 to 25 minutes) or get a bus from Princes Street (outside the station) going to the Haymarket and getting off at the end of Shandwick Place (2 minutes walk from there).
