The Royal Scots Club is open for both members and non-members alike for bed and breakfast accommodation, meeting and events facilities, as well as excellent cuisine in The Club's Dining Room.

Founded in 1919 as a tribute to those who fell in The Great War, The Royal Scots Club is proud of its heritage. Traditional values are very important, and courtesy, personal service and warm hospitality are at the very heart of The Club. The building boasts many unique architectural features, creating a warm ambiance, which is relaxed and comfortable.

The Royal Scots Club Accommodation

With 20 bedrooms individually designed and traditionally furnished; the level of comfort is second to none. All our rooms whether standard or superior, king size or four poster, offer modern facilities, some with scenic views over the rooftops to Fife or to private gardens to the front.

All of our bedrooms have private en-suite facilities with luxury toiletries, hospitality trays, iron and board, cable television,DDI telephones and wi-fi internet access.

Dining
Experience the pleasure of dining in one of the finest rooms in Edinburgh. The classical Georgian features and tranquil views over Queen Street Gardens are matched only by the traditional Scottish fayre.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner the choice of quality produce will surprise and delight all tastes. Due to long tradition the Club does have a Dress Code for the Dining Room.

Dress Code
Gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket and tie for lunch between a Monday and Friday, an open necked shirt, worn without a jacket is acceptable at weekends. A jacket and tie is required for dinner Monday to Thursday, on other evenings smart but casual attire is acceptable. Ladies are expected to conform to an equivalent standard of dress at all times.

Light lunches are also available in the bar and lounge.

Weddings
Your Special Day In The Heart Of Edinburgh's New Town.

Offering Country House charm in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, the Royal Scots Club is a beautiful, traditional and historical venue with four suites to suit both small intimate weddings and larger receptions for up to 120.

We offer a wide range of menus and drinks packages to suit all tastes. Access is available into Queen Street Gardens for special photographs. Our experienced wedding organizers will work closely with you to help create a special wedding day. We can offer advice on every aspect of the arrangements from the seating to the flowers.

Business Facilities
All of our private rooms have direct dial telephones and ISDN lines, and are WI-FI enabled. The Hepburn, Douglas and Dumbarton rooms are air-conditioned.

Keeping pace with today’s fast-moving business world is essential, our team can source a full range of up to date Audio Visual equipment to meet your presentation requirements.

Events
The Royal Scots Club is situated in one of Edinburgh’s finest Georgian Streets in the heart of the New Town, only a few minutes’ walk from Princes Street.

The Club is fast gaining a reputation as the conference and wedding venue of choice in the city centre. With a variety of meeting and function rooms, we can provide bespoke or fully inclusive conference packages, along with excellent options for private dining and overnight accommodation.

Following an extensive redevelopment project, we are delighted to announce that our newest events space - The Princess Royal Suite- has launched in the winter of 2011. With a capacity of 160 guests for banqueting, and 200 for receptions, the unique space also boasts an atmospheric cavern bar.

The suite will also provide flexible day meeting facilities, with fully integrated A/V and IT capabilities, including video-conferencing.

In addition to this, from April 2011, The Club's facilities will be greatly improved with a newly installed passenger lift to all floors, offering full disabled access to our bedrooms, meeting and events spaces.

Our Private Events Rooms
We have several differently sized private rooms to suit all Weddings, whether an intimate Wedding Breakfast for a select few, or a lavish Reception for 120 guests.

All the rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, and are exceptionally adaptable when it comes to table arrangements and room lay-out. A combination of rooms are often hired during the course of the day.

Hepburn Suite
The Hepburn Suite is our largest function suite, built in 1929 with lovely art deco features. It is an entirely self-contained area with adjacent bar, catering facilities and toilets. It has recently been refurbished (January 2007) with new carpets and stage curtains, and can accommodate up to 120 guests for a seated meal.
For the evening reception there is a small stage which can accommodate a 5-piece band, and a large dance floor.

The Douglas Room
This is a beautifully elegant room with period fireplace overlooking Queen Street Gardens, where many couples have decided to hold their Wedding Ceremony. It can seat up to 60 guests for either the ceremony or up to 48 for the Wedding meal.

The Scott Room
Although smaller than the other rooms, the Scott Room has the same traditional charm as the rest of the Club and can seat up to 18 guests for a more intimate ceremony or wedding breakfast.

The Members' Library
Although ordinarily for Members Only, the Library can be hired for drinks before the Wedding Breakfast. This is an exceptional room housing magnificent silver trophy cabinets and exquisitely carved bookcases, and walnut wood panelling.

The Dumbarton Room
Away from the main Club traffic this room is used exclusively for seminars and training courses for up to 20 people. The Dumbarton Room is fitted with modern conference furniture, director delegate chairs and sliding flip charts, screens and whiteboards. There are two syndicate rooms located nearby and the lobby area is an ideal place for meeting and greeting your delegates.

The Ellesmere Room
Located on the ground floor, overlooking Abercromby Place and Queen Street Gardens, the Ellesmere Room is a charming room, capable of seating up to 20 for a meeting or around a table, or up to 25 for a drinks reception.

DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:

From Tourist Information Centre on Princes Street cross road into St Andrew Square. and down to Queen Street. Cross over and walk down Dublin Street, turning left into Abercromby Place.

Getting There by Railway:
From Waverley Station go onto Princes Street then straight across to St Andrew Square and down to Queen Street. Head west along Queen Street to bottom of Hanover Street. Turn right and walk down Queen Street Gardens East, turn right into Abercromby Place.

Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Edinburgh Airport take the A8 into the city centre and follow the one-way system along Queen Street. Turn left at bottom of Hanover Street into Queen Street Gardens, then right into Abercromby Place.
