Edinburgh hotelOpen all year round, Edinburgh House is a small mother and daughter run guesthouse in a traditional tenement building only a short walk or bus ride to city centre attractions like Princes Street, Calton Hill, The Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle.

We also have a variety of restaurants nearby, and the Edinburgh Playhouse Theatre is only a couple of minutes walk. Waverly Station is also 5 minutes by taxi or 15 minute walk.

Edinburgh House Accommodation

All our rooms are ensuite and recently decorated to a high standard of taste and comfort. We have one twin and two family rooms.
All bedrooms are on the ground floor with the dining room on the lower-gound floor, accessed by stairs.
Bedroom 1:
This spacious family room has one double and one single bed, with a large ensuite bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities, digital multi-channel flat screen television.
Bedroom 2:
Smart room with double bed. En suite bathroom. Tea/coffee making facilities and television.
Bedroom 3:
Spacious family room with one double and one single bed. Ensuite bathroom WITH BATH. Tea/coffee making facilities Television.
Bedroom 4:
Family room with one double and one single bed. Tea/coffee making facilities, digital multi-channel flat screen television.
Guest Lounge:
Lounge with TV and a range of magazines for guest use.
Dining Room:
Comfortable dining room with individual tables.
Garden:
There is access to a back yard with seating on a nice day!

All of our rooms are finished to a high standard with en suite bathrooms, multi-channel digital TV, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers in every room. We also have free wifi internet access available.

We operate a strictly non-smoking establishment.
Should our guests have any special requirements (such as booking a taxi, arranging flowers etc) we are happy to oblige.

Nothing is too big nor too small for us! We also speak French and Italian for our foreign visitors.
All our bedrooms are on the ground floor with the dining room on the lower-gound floor, accessed by stairs.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo - The Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual Military tattoo given by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and International military bands and display teams in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. The event takes place annually in August, as part of the Edinburgh Festival (a collective name for many independent festivals and events in Edinburgh in August).

Edinburgh Castle - Starting at the top of the town, Edinburgh Castle is a must see for every visitor. It has a fascinating history, but what makes it really special are the views in every direction. Next to the castle, the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre aims to bring 300 years of Scotch Whisky history to life. This interactive visitor attraction, allows you to experience whisky sights, sounds and smells, and gives the opportunity to discover how whisky is made.

Real Mary King’s Close

Directions:
Edinburgh House B&B is situated in McDonald Road, just a ten minute walk from the main shopping area, Princes Street.
By Bus: Plenty of buses pass very close to the house (10,11,16,17,22,25) which go into town and the other way to Leith and Ocean Terminal (home of Royal Yacht Britannia).
By Rail: The nearest station is Waverley (5 minutes by taxi or 15 minute walk).
By Air: Edinburgh Airport is around 25 minutes taxi ride, or get the Airbus into town for £3.
By Car: We have plentiful parking in the area (free during weekends ONLY)
