Getting there from the Information Center
From the Tourist Information Center by bus from Princes Street as described
from the station. By car travel to west end of Princes Street, turn left
up Lothian Road and keep on main road. Take right fork at large junction
past Kings Theatre, go through 3 sets of traffic lights and at fourth
set at large junction turn onto Morningside Road. Keep left through lights
up hill, Hermitage Bar on your right. At mini roundabout go straight on
(Braid Road). Braid Hills Hotel is on the right.
Getting There by Railway
From Waverley station 3 miles by taxi or turn right out of main exit then
left onto Princes Street or take buses 11 or 15 and ask driver for Braid
Hills Hotel stop. Go up set of steps to hotel car park and cross the road.
Turn right then first left. Dunalton is on the left 0.75 of distance along
road, or 16 and 17 bus and ask driver for Greenbank traffic lights stop.
Cross the road and turn right past petrol station. You will come to hotel
steps, and continue as previously described.
Getting there by Aeroplane
By car head towards Edinburgh. At large road junction take upper circuit
round to city bypass. Exit and continue until Lothian burn Junction exit.
Turn left onto Edinburgh west, head straight on at traffic lights. At
junction in road, (shops on left) take right fork (at telephone box) for
0.5 miles. At bend in road turn right (opposite Braid Hills Hotel) into
Braid Farm Road. Number 43 is on the left at the far end.
