Brae Guest House Accommodation

Rooms are all furnished and decorated with your comfort in mind and during your stay, you will be given keys allowing you 24 hour access to the house and your room. All we ask is you are considerate and respect other peoples comfort and privacy.

All rooms are reasonably priced and include a full cooked breakfast or other diets by arrangement. Room rates are per person per night.

The Brae is a small, family run Bed and Breakfast that prides itself on traditional values of hospitality yet a modern approach to your comforts and needs.

Built during the reign of George V, the Brae is a traditional sand stone terraced town house. Guests can choose from Single/ Double or Twin/ and Family bedrooms.
The bedrooms are all furnished with you comfort in mind and are all en-suite except for the single, which has a private bathroom.
Please note when booking, a DOUBLE has a double bed, a TWIN has 2 single beds.

A full cooked breakfast is served in our spacious and attractive Dining Room with period features. Breakfast always has fruit juices, fruit, cereals, toast, tea and coffee as well as a hot breakfast of bacon, sausage, egg, potato, beans etc included in the price.
A full Scottish breakfast that includes sliced-sausage, black pudding and scones can be requested in advance. Other requests such as porridge, cheeses, ham etc can be accommodated at no additional cost as well as other beverages.
We can cater for Vegetarians or those with other special dietary requirements provided we are given advance notice.

Whatever your needs, we will endeavour to meet them. Babies / young children have particular needs, an iron and ironing board are available, well-behaved house trained pets are not excluded and many more, you only need ask.

Situated on the East side of the City Centre within 2 kilometres of many attractions and places to visit, the Brae Guest House is ideally placed to enjoy your stay.

Located on a Main Bus Route as well as within walking distance of the City centre, (20 minutes) everything is easily reached.

The Brae Guest House is ideally situated for exploring the city and its many attractions. Within 2kms of the following you can have the best of all worlds. Princes Street, The Castle, Holyrood Palace , The Royal Mile and the Old Town, Museums, Art Galleries, Historical Buildings, Tourist Attractions, Sports facilities, Leisure Facilities (Cinemas/ Theatres etc), Restaurants, Shopping Centres, Golf Courses, Walks, the seaside resort of Portobello and many more, you will never be short of something to do.

Some more information on the more popular attractions is given below.The castle is the most popular tourist attraction in Edinburgh. Dominating the skyline with majestic views over Princes Street and the impressive gardens below, this former Royal residence is steeped in history.

The spectacular fireworks display against the backdrop of the castle at the end of the Edinburgh Festival and on Hogmanay are the most eagerly awaited events of the year.
Do you like shopping? Well Edinburgh is the place to be! We are only a short bus ride to Princes Street, one of the world's most famous shopping boulevards.

With its impressive range of smaller shops and department stores, Princes Street is almost guaranteed to leave you with tired feet and an empty wallet! There is so much more to shopping in Edinburgh though, and we highly recommend you also take a walk up the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket area where there are many quaint and specialist shops waiting to be explored.

The Edinburgh Military Tattoo draws viewers from all over the world. Many come to see and hear the Scottish Regiments with their haunting Pipe Bands but there is also a vast array of other military regiments on show from around the world. This event is a truly spectacular fanfare of military showmanship both past and present.

Directions:
The Brae Guest House is easy to find just East of the City centre and on a main Bus Route.
Situated 2kms East of the Train and Bus stations, from Princes Street it is down Leith Walk, east onto London Road and then 300 metres up Willowbrae Road, on the left.
Coming from the East of the city just follow the A1 road all the way in.

Free on street parking is available and a short 5-minute bus or taxi ride is all that is required from or to the centre.

A walk from/to the city centre will only take 20-30 minutes and is a perfect way to see the views and attractions. Holyrood Park with its extinct volcano, Arthurâs Seat, is only a 5-minute walk from the Guest House.
