Ardleigh Guest House Accommodation

We have seven rooms; all with private facilities, and the whole guesthouse has been recently refurbished to a high standard for the benefit of our guest.

The bedrooms offer firm comfortable beds with fresh white Irish linen sheets, colour TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones, comfortable chairs and towels laundered daily.

We also have a large family room that can comfortably sleep up to a family of five and has a spectacular view of the city's skyline. We also keep a stock of various sundry items such as shaving equipment, toothpaste, deodorants and shoe polish.

With this exceptionally friendly atmosphere, guests can enjoy a filling continental or full cooked hearty Scottish Breakfast before embarking on a days visit or sightseeing trip.

The Ardleigh Guest House, built circa 1900, is a Victorian Stone Built terraced villa, still retaining many fine feature, and commands a panoramic view of the city skyline that includes, Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill and Edinburgh Castle.

Many visitors come to Edinburgh to experience the arts. A most impressive collection can be found at the Scottish National Gallery Of Modern Art.
A short taxi journey will take you to Edinburgh's main theatres; the Usher Hall, Kings Theatre, The Festival Theatre and of course The Playhouse, which features many great musicals.
For our business guests, there is the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

This modern facility has fast become a very important and major conference venue, as companies choose to work and play in one of Europe's most attractive City's.
Many of the major financial institutional Head Offices are located in the centre of town and are again easily accessible from the Ardleigh whether they are city centre or at the South Gyle on the City Bypass.

With free on-street parking, all day access and being placed on the main bus routes in and out of town, The Ardleigh Guest House is ideal for exploring Edinburgh at your leisure. Accessible by rail road & by air you will find it quick and easy to reach your destination.

Getting about:
The Ardleigh Guest House is conveniently located within reach of all major transport systems. Taxis and trains are close by at Haymarket Station, with Waverley main station just off Princes Street, by the Walter Scott monument. Edinburgh's airport is situated to the west of the city and is only 15 minutes away. A comprehensive network of bus routes will help you explore the city, while Murrayfield, famed for rugby, is nearby.

Close by there is the Historic Port of Leith, it is the final resting place of the decommissioned Royal yacht Britannia, it has been restored to its former glory and is now open to the public, (£6.50) entrance, it gives you an incite of how the Royal Family travelled in style.
Close by is Newhaven Harbour with its Fisherman's Museum, it is full of interesting photographs and relics of days gone by.
The Peacock Inn is a restaurant in Newhaven that has a big menu, big helpings and at a reasonable price, it is well worth a visit.
Within walking distance, there is The Royal Botanical Gardens, they have many flowers and exotic plants from all corners of the world.

As well as Edinburgh's main attractions, the hotel is close to a thriving local community with famous pubs and well known restaurants where a host of different cuisine's, English, French, Italian, Eastern, will satisfy every taste!

There are many things to see and do in the Old Town. There are 24 existing Visitor Attractions; a further two educational and visitor attractions are being planned. The Dynamic Earth, The Museum of Scotland, The Science Centre and The Festival Centre. Many visitors enjoy walking around this historic core exploring the many closes that thread their way through the Town.

From a leisure prospective, there is Murrayfield International Rugby Stadium, the home of Scottish Rugby. In addition every year between the 1st of August & the 6th of September Edinburgh hosts The Edinburgh International Festival, International Film Festival, The Fringe and the Jazz Festival.Many visitors come from all around the world to take part or to watch the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo, a spectacle really worth seeing, it seems to get better each year, culminating on the final night (around the 5/6th of September) in a massive & unforgettable fireworks display.

All venues are once again only a few minutes walk or drive from the Ardleigh. As a visitor to our beautiful City, you will find accommodation at the Ardleigh which will suit your every need, and which is conveniently located for both business and pleasure.

· By Air From Edinburgh International Airport situated west of City. The Ardleigh Guest House is only 10 miles from the Airport. Approximate transfer time 30 minutes. Buses run every 15 minutes into the city.
· Bus/Train Station From the City Centre. Approximate transfer time 10 minutes in Taxi (approx. £7.00) or Bus (£1.00).
