Things to do:
Edinburgh Activities:
Edinburgh is rightly regarded as one of the finest cities in the World. And no wonder, with its fascinating history, unique heritage, ancient buildings, dramatic scenery, countless attractions, lively nightlife, first-rate shopping, not to mention the famous Scottish hospitality of its friendly population.

The city of Edinburgh is often voted by its residents as' the best place to live in Britain'. Dramatic contours, long surviving buildings, breathtaking views, green hills, wide water and a manageable sized city centre have encouraged a truly cosmopolitan population that has produced a diverse cultural identity. The city is a thrilling place!

23 Mayfield is near the foot of Salisbury Crags, which are a dramatic feature of Arthurs Seat. The Guest House offers easy access to most places of interest in Edinburgh such as Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament and Princes Street, which are all within a one mile radius.

We are also within easy reach of Edinburgh University , Pollock halls, Kings Buildings, Royal Observatory, Little France Hospital, Peffermill playing fields, the Royal Infirmary and the Scottish Parliament.

Arthur's Seat is a dormant volcano located within Holyrood Park which dominates the city and also is the highest of a series of peaks which take the form of a crouched lion (it is also sometimes referred to as Lion's Head).
Also within the park is the Palace of Holyrood House which is the Edinburgh residence of the British Queen (though we believe she would rather stay at 23 Mayfield)!
Salisbury Crags, which form part of Arthur's seat, are virtually on our doorstep and give great views of the historic old town of Edinburgh.
