Set between powerful mountain and coastal scenery the Bunkhouse enjoys wonderful views over the North Atlantic Ocean. The Lazy Crofter is owned and managed by Robbie and Fiona Mackay, who pride themselves on the warm atmosphere and genuine highland hospitality on offer to each and every visitor.

HOSTEL DETAILS
The Bunkhouse has been designed to sleep 20 persons, in a mix of shared dorms and small two man bunk - rooms. The price is the same for everyone £14.00 per person per night.

The bedrooms are warm, bright and airy. Tastefully decorated in tartan, the bunkhouse adopts a highland theme throughout. All linen is provide free of charge, with all rooms being fully made-up for your arrival.
There are a minimum of rules but a strict "no-smoking" policy exists.

The Lazy Crofter is a purpose built tourist hostel, where guests are offered a full range of expected facilities and much more!!!
* A modern fully equipped self-catering kitchen, everything you need is provided, making catering for yourself easy and enjoyable.
Living room - friendly social atmosphere where meeting new people and making new friends is encouraged. TV is also available.
* Drying room, which allows you to at least start the day dry! This is equipped with American Style Washing Machine
* Full Central heating ensure we can always determine the temperature inside if not outside.
* Powerful hot showers with plenty piping hot water – great after a day on the hill.
* Village store and Post Office are 100 metres away. The store is extremely well stocked and competitively priced.
* Short walk to local pubs/restaurants/tourist information and the most amazing golden beaches.

* Earliest arrival is 14.00hr and Checkout is 10.00hr.

Getting to the Lazy Crofter
The Lazy Crofter is located in the heart of Durness, Northwest Sutherland. Durness is ideally situated for exploring the "real" Highlands of Scotland being on the corner of the road network. Grid reference NC 406 679 Os sheet 9 Cape Wrath

From Inverness (102 miles : driving time about two and a half hours) Head west on the A9, bear left onto the B9176 which turns into the A836. Turn left onto the A838.

From Ullapool (66 miles : driving time about one and a half hours) Head north west on the A835, and continue on the road straight to Durness onto the A838.

From Thurso (70 miles : driving time about one and a half hours) Head west on the A836 which leads onto the A838.
