Dundee HotelsSanctuary Management Services offers self-catering accommodation within the student accommodation at Seabraes Hall during July and August.

All apartments are leased by the University of Dundee during term time for student use and some apartments are reserved for University students during the Summer vacation leaving 16 flats available to let by visitors through Sanctuary Management Service.

Seabraes Self Catering Accommodation

We are able to offer individual bedrooms or for larger groups, self-contained apartments each with 1 double bedroom and 6 single bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms and a fully equipped dining kitchen/lounge area.

Each apartment building is fitted with a security entrance system. Seabraes has 4 floors with one flat on each level.

Apartments are available for exclusive use by one group providing there is a minimum of 2 persons staying at least 3 nights. Maximum occupancy within a flat is 8 persons (1 double, 6 singles). Towels are changed every 3 nights and bed linen if staying over 7 nights. Housekeeping duties are not included.

Alternatively, we can offer accommodation in en-suite bedrooms with shared use of the dining kitchen/lounge area. Again towels will be changed every 3 nights and bed linen if staying over 7 nights. The kitchen lounge area will be cleaned daily only in flats with shared use of kitchen facilities.

Seabraes Hall has been inspected by the Scottish Tourist Board for Self Catering Accommodation and awarded 2 Stars and ‘Access for Residents with mobility difficulties’ classification.

Please advise us at the time of booking of any special requirements regarding access e.g., Ground floor flat required, as there are no lift facilities.

Activities and Attractions
Dundee is known as the “City of Discovery” and is situated on the banks of the River Tay on the east coast of Scotland.

The city in past times was renowned for the three J’s – Jute, Jam and Journalism and is the home of Desperate Dan and The Beano. The comic book legends have been immortalized in bronze within the City Square’s pedestrianised precinct.

In addition to Cow Pies, the city is infamous for Dundee Cake, Wallace’s Dundee Peh (Pie) and the slogan “E’ll hae eh peh!” (I'll have a pie!).

The University of Dundee is situated just minutes from the city centre, with easy access to numerous tourist attractions and the famous Championship Golf Courses of St Andrews and Carnoustie are within ½ hour’s drive.

Within walking distance, are Captain Scott’s Ship “The Discovery” and Discovery Point visitor attraction, HM Frigate Unicorn, Verdant Works, Sensation Science Centre, and Dundee Rep Theatre to name but a few.

A short drive away you can explore Glamis Castle, Scone Palace, Angus Folk Museum, J M Barrie’s Birthplace, Arbroath Abbey and many other local sites of historic interest.

DIRECTIONS
By Rail:

Dundee is on the main East Coast rail line. There are overnight sleeper services from London, the south coast and the west country. Rail journeys to the other major cities in Scotland take approximately 1¼ hours, and the regular service from London King's Cross takes only six hours.

The railway station is only a few minutes walk from the University campus and Seabraes itself. It is a short taxi ride from Ninewells Hospital & Medical School. Also, only a short taxi ride from the bus station.

By Coach:
Major coach services (e.g. National Express, Stagecoach, and Citylink) link with Dundee from various parts of the UK.

By Car:
From the south via the A90, from Edinburgh (M90) and Glasgow (A9) and beyond. There is also a scenic route from Edinburgh along the Fife coastline and into Dundee via the Tay Road Bridge.By car from Perth (about 25 minutes) - from the A90 go northeast for approximately 16 miles.

At the first roundabout on the approach to Dundee (Swallow Hotel) take the third exit on your right (Riverside Drive). Continue along Riverside Drive (A85) for about one mile until you reach the next roundabout. Take 2nd exit at roundabout, (past Dundee Airport, playing fields etc) and continue for approx 1 mile.

Immediately before railway bridge take 1st left onto Riverside Approach. Take first right and first right again. Seabraes Court is situated approx 0.2mile on the right hand side. Follow the driveway down to the main car park where the Office/Reception is located (Double Doors).

By car from Aberdeen (about 60 minutes):
Follow the A90 round the outskirts of Dundee heading west towards Perth to the junction with the A85 at the Swallow Hotel roundabout. Take 1st exit into Riverside Drive and continue for approx 1 mile to next roundabout.

Take 2nd exit (past Dundee Airport, playing fields etc) and continue for approx 1 mile. Immediately before railway bridge take 1st left onto Riverside Approach. Take first right and first right again. Seabraes Court is situated approx 0.2mile on the right hand side.

Follow the driveway down to the main car park where the Office/Reception is located (Double Doors) .

By car from Dundee Airport (about 5 minutes):
Turn right out of the airport. Immediately before railway bridge (Approx 1 mile) take 1st left onto Riverside Approach. Take first right and first right again. Seabraes Court is situated approx 0.2mile on the right hand side.

Follow the driveway down to the main car park where the Office/Reception is located (Double Doors) . Taxis are available from the Airport, and car hire may be pre-arranged. Free car parking is available to all ScotAirways passengers at Dundee Airport.

By Air:
Dundee airport is 3 miles to the west of the city centre (only five minutes drive from the University). Taxis are available at the airport, and care hire may be pre-arranged. Free car parking is available to all ScotAirways passengers.

There are scheduled flights to and from London City with ScotAirways. All flights connect with many other international destinations.

Travel by Sea:
You can reach Dundee in a few hours from the European ferry terminals at Newcastle and Hull, Rosyth. Dundee is also a popular port of call for cruise ships, and there are many harbours in Fife and Angus suitable for mooring yachts.
