Dumfries hotelThe Old Schoolhouse is a luxury 3 bedroom, detached, Victorian schoolmaster’s house, tastefully renovated to a high standard, yet retaining many of the original features.

There are all the comforts you would expect in your own home, but with stunning 360 degree views. The Old Schoolhouse is 5 miles drive from Dumfries town center, yet in a tranquil rural setting.

It is ideally situated to explore Southwest, and Central Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Northern England- but with all that the Old Schoolhouse has on hand, you may just want to stay home and relax! Situated a stones-throw from the Old School, the two cottages are perfect for weddings or large family gatherings.

The Old Schoolhouse is a family run business where the comfort and relaxation of our guests is paramount. Pick fruit organically grown in our orchard in Autumn. Explore their woods and have a ‘fire pit’ barby on a warm summer evening.

Use the Old Schoolhouse as a base from which to explore all that Dumfries & Galloway has to offer or simply unwind in the garden or explore the 16th century tower behind it.

The Old Schoolhouse - Irongray Accommodation

The house has a large, well appointed kitchen / dining room and large living room - each with open fires downstairs, and three comfortable bedrooms (two double, one twin) and a beautiful period bathroom with original roll-top bath upstairs. Central Heating throughout.

It has its own large garden, with beautiful views over rolling hills, supplied with appropriate garden furniture etc. and private native woodland (approximately 3 acres), with two burns running through; open 'fire-pit' barbeque; wild flowers and wildlife a-plenty.
