The energetic will find miles of road cycle routes, world class tracks for mountain biking in Mabie, Ae and Dalbeattie forests and beyond, golf courses aplenty, game and course fishing, and some magnificent walking. At a more leisurely pace, there are beautiful castles, historic monuments and gardens to visit and explore.
The Solway estuary with its renowned bird reserves, sandy beaches and coastal villages is within easy reach, and there are many opportunities to sample local produce in nearby restaurants and hostelries. Getting there from the Information Center
From Dumfries: Turn right along Whitesands and then left over the bridge,
follow signs for A75 Stranraer. At end of dual carriage section, turn
left at Drummore roundabout (Lochfoot turning) and immediately left again.
Nunland is clearly signed from the roundabout.
Getting There by Ferry
From Stranraer: Follow A75 signposted Dumfries. Three miles past Crocketford,
turn right at Drummore roundabout (Lochfoot turn off). The entrance to
Nunland is clearly signposted immediately left.
