It is a clean, cosy and friendly place to stay while travelling by Loch
Ness or the Great Glen Way.
We have two separate lounges and a warm open fire greets you on cold nights
after a day out walking.
Our Highland Backpacking Hostel has grown from what was once an 18th century farm cottage and barns.
The house has been extended to form the main area of the Hostel with
Reception, Lounges, Dining Room, Kitchen and Toilets/Showers on the ground
floor, and two Dormitories and one Double Room in the upstairs area.
The Hostel has a converted barn area consisting of four Dormitories, Toilets/Showers
and Kitchen/Dining area all on ground level.
Loch Ness Backpacker's Lodge is within easy walking distance of: Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, three pubs, restaurants, a supermarket, a fish & chip shop, post office, bank, gift shops and bus stops.

Directions:
Getting there from the Information Centre
Continue on A82 headed for Fort William. At the Esso garage in Lewiston
turn first left. The hostel is 100 yards down this street on your left.
Getting There by Car
From Inverness take the A82 signed for Fort William. Drive through Drumnadrochit
until you reach Lewiston, at the Esso garage turn first left. The hostel
is 100 yards down this street on your left. Coming from Fort William,
follow the A82 until you reach Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness side. From
here drive down the hill into Lewiston, turning first right after the
bridge.
Getting There by Railway
There is a main line service to Inverness. From Inverness take a number
19 bus to Drumnadrochit. Be sure to ask the driver to drop you in Lewiston
or you will have a fair walk to get to the hostel.
