Our en-suite bedrooms are comfortably furnished with soft bedding, blending Georgian architecture with a contemporary style.
All bedrooms have tea coffee making facilities and colour televisions. Other items such as hairdryer, ironing and drying facilities are available to help you feel at home.

The bedrooms:
Combine comfort with style, - a haven to escape to. Weather permitting; flowers from the garden are picked for the bedrooms. All the bed rooms have televisions and tea or coffee making facilities.

Our Purple Room has a super-king bed, that can separate to be two twins and also a bed-settee, used as both our largest double room and our ‘family room’. Drummond Castle can be glimpsed through the trees. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower, smartly tiled in green.

Our twin-bedded 'Darjeeling' room looks out over the extensive garden, and has a wonderful window seat, at which many guests are seen to be reading in the late afternoon sunlight. The bathroom has a large shower space, with toilet and wash-hand basin.

The 'Yellow and Green' room combines homemaker America with Chinese style. The spacious bathroom has a large shower, toilet and basin. There is a window seat and small table allowing you to relax and write.

The ‘Blue and Green’ room isn’t actually as blue and green as it once was, but the name has stuck. A lovely spacious room, with an Edwardian bed which has been lengthened to accommodate the taller gentleman, alongside other antique furniture.
This room has a private bathroom adjacent, a 1930’s one which has been recently refurbished. It has a full bath with shower over.

Galvelmore offers very comfortable B&B accommodation in large and spacious rooms of Victorian grandeur, with bathroom facilities. Gourmet evening meals are available if required, using local Scottish ingredients - the food is superb.

Our two-bedroomed flat is available for self-catering holidays, running from Saturday to Saturday, though at short notice or off-peak we are happy to rent it out for short breaks.
The flat is decorated with Katy's artistic eye, with original artwork on the walls.

The large sitting room with two settees also has a dining area in the bay window, which looks over the main garden and out to superb sunsets. There is a TV and DVD/Video player, and the sideboard is full of board games and videos for all ages.

The kitchen is fully equipped. The crockery is locally made Buchan Pottery, which can be bought from the Crieff Visitor Centre. There is an electric oven and hob, and microwave though there are plenty of restaurants and take-away should you wish not to cook!

The double bedroom overlooks the main garden, but there is planting to ensure your privacy. Decorated in a cool blue, with embroidered quilt and duvet, and 1930's furniture, the room is a tranquil one for relaxing in.

The twin bedded room overlooks the flat's private garden and is south facing. In a zingy orange, the room glows on a sunny day. There is plenty of space for children to play in this room.

The bathroom features Katy's oeuvre, a full mosaic representing a library of books. There is a bath with a shower over, sink, toilet and vanity area.

The Garden Flat has its own private entrance and small cottage style garden with a mosaic patio table and chairs, and a BBQ. The garden is very peaceful and secluded. Any help to water the many pot plants is much appreciated!

The Dining Room:
Sitting around the main table and discussing the meal from the night before or the plans for the day ahead, swapping tips with other guests or discussing the beauty of Scotland, the informality of dining at Galvelmore House is much appreciated by our guests.

The room is decorated in a strong red, with an eclectic selection of painting and prints, including a trio of prints that date back to Katy's brother's degree course.
Music plays quietly in the background, sometimes Scottish folk music, sometimes World music, sometimes classical. Again a further selection of plants and books - including their cookery selection.

The Guests' Lounge:
The oak panelled lounge offers visitors a place to unwind and relax at the end of their day. David is more than happy to put a light to the fire, should guests wish to use the room of an evening, maybe to read one of the many books, both fiction and reference, that are available, or maybe to play any of the games or jigsaws that are in the cupboard.

Maps and walking books of the local area are available to borrow, along with books on the history, beauty and geography of Scotland.

The furniture has been carefully chosen to make you feel right at home. As one guest put it; 'I feel like taking off my shoes and tucking my feet up under me'.
The wooden panelled lounge with open log fire is available to guests throughout the day. With games and a variety of books and magazines is an ideal place for the family to relax. Many of the books will give information on the what to do in and around the surrounding area.

Katy makes her own jams and marmalades; ever the adventurer, some flavours are obscure but delicious - spiced rhubarb jam; plum, brandy and walnut conserve; hedgerow jam or pineapple and marrow jam - but sometimes it is just plain strawberry! Where possible, we use locally sourced ingredients and fair trade products.

Our packed lunches, which are available with prior notice and cost £6, include freshly made sandwiches or rolls, crisps, fresh fruit, fruit juice and a chocolate biscuit to finish off. If you have your own thermos, we will happily fill it for you.

David is an experience chef, whose last position was working at Gleneagles a couple of days a week and Katy is a good cook who produces most of the desserts. She has the passion for recipes and David has the passion for cooking them with style, so together Katy and David complement each other well.

Some of the dishes that we have prepared in the past are:
For Food lovers

Either ask us to cook for you, or visit one of the many restaurants in the area.
We are well served by a choice of restaurants, from fine dining at the award winning Yanns at Glenearn, located in a former school building in Crieff, to the Barley Bree in Muthill which offers or delicious food in its restaurant. We are also in striking distance of Gleneagles Hotel for that extra special treat!

There is also a vide variety of bistros, cafes and bars both in the town and in the immediate Strathearn area.

Golf:
Crieff offers an unenviable base for golfers who wish to play different courses each day. You could easily spend two weeks here without treading on the same ground. From the magnificent PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles - the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup - to the local 9-hole courses at Muthill, Comrie and St Fillans, each course has its own distinctive personality and challenges for the keen golfer, while at the same time offering unrivalled views of beautiful Perthshire.

The Tourist Information Office has a couple of good packages on offer:
For 9-hole courses, many of which are local to Crieff, use the Perthshire Highlands Golf Ticket, whereby you can golf for three or five rounds (each of 18 holes) for a discounted price. The courses are Comrie, Muthill, St Fillans, Dunkeld and Killin.

The Perthshire Green Card gives you a choice of 3 or 5 rounds at the following 18 hole courses: The Ferntower Course at Crieff Golf Club, Aberfeldy, Alyth, Blairgowrie, Glenisla, Murrayshall, Muckhart, King James VI, Craigie Hill, Strathmore, Pitlochry, Taymouth Castle, Green Hotel (Kinross-shire), Whitemoss.

The Crieff Golf Club offers the Ferntower Course, which is an 18-hole championship layout with a par of 71, with magnificent views over the Strathearn valley. The Dornock 9-hole round is equally impressive. It is recommended that you book your tee-off times in advance.

The Foulford Inn, towards the Sma' Glen has a 9-hole course… and what a better way to finish (in Katy's opinion) at the bar!

The Crieff Hydro Hotel Golf Centre has a 9-hole course (par 32), as well as a 6-hole pitch and putt course (suitable for beginners or younger golfers) There is also a practice green, driving range and 9 hole krazy golf course. Equipment is available for hire, along with tuition.

The Gleneagles Hotel courses are now open to the public.

Horse-back Riding:
Trek out over the hills or learn the basics in a covered and enclosed arena at one of the local horse-riding schools.
Alichmore Livery and Riding Centre, located approximately half a mile outside Crieff offers trekking, tuition and group lessons for all levels

Cycling:
There are many quiet roads in the Crieff area, suitable for cycle rides, and off-road cycling on the Knock, and many of the designated walking paths are also suitable for mountain bikes. Take a trip along the back roads to Comrie, or out to Madderty - both running along the valley so few hills - or head upwards into the hills for a more challenging ride.

Bike-hire is available locally, if you just want to 'play at it'.
Comrie Croft bikes, located between Crieff and Comrie, has bike hire and various hand-crafted trails in the hills behind, which offer stunning scenery of the Strathearn area.
They also run the Hairy Coo Mountain Bike Challenge in October which is always good fun. If mountain biking seems too strenuous, there are a lot of off-the beaten track roads and paths that we can recommend.

Fishing:
The Strathearn Valley is renowned for its challenging and relaxing angling, amidst superb scenery. Salmon, brown and rainbow trout, charr, grayling and pike are all to be found in the area!

The Tourist Information Centre sells day permits for the Drummond Beat, the Upper Strowan Beat (both managed by the Crieff Angling Club) and the Lochlane and Laggan Beats on the River Earn (which also has fully equipped fishing huts, with help and advice available from a full-time fisheries manager).

The River Earn is the closest spot for fishing. A broad, tranquil river at this point, it offers trout and salmon fishing.

Other fishing in the area includes:
Braincroft Loch,
Cowden Loch,
Drummond Loch, ghillie & tuition by arrangement
Loch Earn,
Boat hire is available from Drummond Estates,
Loch Freuchie, Loch Mealbrodden, Lochan a'Mhuillin,
Loch Turret

And a last point on fishing, if you catch it, we can cook it for you. Or freeze it, so you can take it home and boast to your friendds but not if you are an overseas visitor!

Watersports:
Take to Loch Earns water with the Lochearnhead Watersports Centre, an award winning activity centre, offering opportunities for all the family to get on the water including water-skiing, sailing, kayaks and canoes.

Falconry:
Perthshire Falconry Services at Braco offers the complete novice (of which the majority of us are!) the opportunity of handling, flying and hunting with one of the largest collections of trained eagles, hawks, falcons and owls in Europe… be warned, it is quite expensive, though somewhat unusual.

Off-Road Driving:
Crieff Hydro Hotel Off-Road Centre allows you to test your driving skills in a 4x4 vehicle over 40 acres of mixed terrain, with an instructor guiding you all the way.

Under 17's can be driven round the off-road course, and over 12's can try rally karting.

The Crieff Hydro Hotel offers the facilities for tennis, squash, badminton, table tennis, croquet, swimming and petanque.
