Tigh
a Bhealaich is a modern architect designed house, with luxury accommodation,
completed in 2006. It sleeps 9/10 and is situated on the edge of Castlebay
about 10 minutes walk from the shops.
Its high vantage point gives panoramic views of Castlebay and the small islands south of Barra.
Tigh a Bhealaich Accommodation
Ground floor accommodation consists of:
Large living room with vaulted ceiling, leather sofas, satellite TV/DVD,
open fire and extensive glass frontage with sliding patio door access
to a large wooden deck at the front of the house with a built-in bench.
Outside furniture provided. Computer with broadband internet access. Kitchen
/ dining room with large adjustable table (sits max 12) and modern purpose
built kitchen units and a central island containing a 5-ring gas hob.
Kitchen also contains a dishwasher and large American-style fridge / freezer.
Again, sliding patio door access to the deck from the dining area. Utility
room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Bathroom with bath, shower
and w/c. One double bedroom on the ground floor with twin beds.
Upper floor:
A mezzanine bedroom with bunk-beds , satellite TV / DVD player.
Double master bedroom with en-suite shower and w/c.
Double room with twin beds.
Single bedroom.
Shower room with w/c.
All linen, towels and beach towels provided. Weekly rates are inclusive
of electricity and gas central heating costs.

DIRECTIONS TO TAIGH A BHEALAICH
FROM CASTLEBAY CAR FERRY (1.1 miles)
Drive off ferry uphill for 100m then turn right( signposted A888 Breibhig).Proceed
past church and Craigard Hotel. Continue straight on then uphill. Tigh
a Bhealaich is a modern-style house on the top off the hill.
FROM ERISKAY CAR FERRY (10.5miles)
Drive off ferry. Proceed along single track road. (1.1 miles) Turn left
at T junction. Travel a further 2.1 miles then turn left at T-junction
(A888 Castlebay via East).Travel round east side of island until Kisimul
Castle comes into view. The property is at the top of this hill on the
left hand side of the road just after a quarry also on the left hand side
(7.2 miles)
FROM AIRPORT (12 miles)
On exiting the airport turn left on the single track road and proceed
to the T-junction at Northbay. (A888 Castlebay via East). Turn left. Travel
round east side of island until Kisimul Castle comes into view. The property
is at the top of this hill on the left hand side of the road just after
a quarry also on the left hand side.
