Holiday
country cottage, farm based , two bedroom in Dumfries and Galloway near
beaches of the Solway coast.
We call it Garden Cottage. It is also the place where our family come to relax.
Garden Cottage is situated in farm setting at the end of a private road where you can enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of some holiday cottage locations. However the cottage not isolated.
It is near the top of a hill surrounded by beautiful landscape with Lock Ken in the distance. It is a great place from which to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Galloway Hills. Kirkcudbright and beaches of the Solway coast are just a short drive away.
Garden Cottage Accommodation
The cottage can accommodate 4. It is furnished with good quality comfortable furniture not usually found in holiday cottages. It has been awarded 3 Stars by the Scottish Tourist board. Although in the heart of farm land it is less than 1.5 mile to Castle Douglas, a designated Food town with many restaurants in and around.
Newly decorated, tastefully furnished and cared for to a high standard. All accommodation on one level and offers 2 double rooms. There are no added charges for electric or linen.

Activities
The cottage is a genuine farm cottage situated at the end of a private
road. It is quiet but not isolated. Our visitor friends and extended family
find it really relaxing to be in the beauty and tranquility of the Galloway
Hills yet just about 15 minute drive from the Solway Coast. near Lough
Ken and Galloway Forest Park.
The local town of Castle Douglas is a thriving but unspoilt market town less than a mile and a half from the front door.
Our excellent location is ideal for a full range of leisure pursuits including: water sports, golf, fishing, birdwatching, biking and walking or even chase the Haggis :-).
DIRECTIONS
Getting there from the Information Centre:
From Castle Douglas Tourist Information Centre go down King Street and
turn right at clock tower on A713 Ayr Road. Chapmanton is the first farm
road on right after the 30 mile limit ends.
Getting There by Railway:
From Dumfries Railway Station, take A75 west for Castle Douglas.
Getting there by Aeroplane:
From Glasgow Airport, take M77 south then A713 to Castle Douglas.
Getting There by Ferry:
From Stranraer Ferry Port or Cairnryan Ferry Port take A75 to Dumfries.
When arriving at Castle Douglas by pass take Ayr road A713 to left. Chapmanton
entrance opposite slip road.
