· Distilleries - The Blair Atholl Distillery in Pitlochry is the oldest working distillery in Scotland. Edradour distillery, also in Pitlochry, is the smallest in Scotland.
· Clan Donnachaidh Centre - 4 miles north of Blair Atholl, over 700 years of clan history is displayed. Museum and Shop.

History and Setting
Built in 1832, the Atholl Arms Hotel is a traditional Highland hotel which has built up a reputation for good food, comfort and friendly service.

The hotel is imposingly situated in the picturesque village of Blair Atholl, close to Blair Castle, one of the best known castles in Scotland.

Edinburgh and Glasgow and the direct rail link from London to the station almost next to the hotel make Blair Atholl and the hotel easy to reach and the perfect base for touring the highlands of Scotland.

At the gateway to the Cairngorm National Park. 5 miles from the great highland tourist destination of Pitlochry but without the hustle and bustle. Where you can enjoy ‘quiet’, stress free short breaks close to Pitlochry and within easy reach of Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

And notable for its own selection of great Scotch whisky, it is surrounded by some great Scottish malt whisky distilleries, notably Edradour and Dalwhinnie.

DIRECTIONS
By Road:
The Atholl Arms Hotel is just off the main A9 road at Blair Atholl in Highland Perthshire between Perth and Inverness. It is some 35 miles (56km) north of Perth. Travelling by road, take the turn signposted to Blair Atholl some 7 miles north of Pitlochry. The hotel is a prominent feature at the northern end of the centre of the village.

From Inverness:
Take the A9 all the way south to Blair Atholl. The hotel is a prominent feature at the northern end of the centre of the village. From the airport – take the road into Inverness then on to the A9

From Glasgow:
Take the A/M80 north to Stirling, remembering to bypass the city and follow the signs for Perth then Inverness which will take you on to the A9 north. Take the turn signposted to Blair Atholl some 7 miles north of Pitlochry. The hotel is a prominent feature at the northern end of the centre of the village.

From Edinburgh:
Take the M90 to Perth outskirts where you will follow the signs for and join the A9 north to Inverness. Bypass Pitlochry and proceed as above.

From Aberdeen:
The more scenic route is the A93 road via Ballater, Braemar and Glenshee to the A924 turn-off at Bridge of Cally, for Kirkmichael then head west to Pitlochry. Look out at Pitlochry for the signs for the A9 north to Blair Atholl (7 miles) The quickest route from Aberdeen is to come south on the A90 via Forfar, then Coupar Angus and Dunkeld.

From Dundee:
Take the A90 to the outskirts of Perth then proceed as for Edinburgh above

From the Rosyth Ferry:
Follow the signs for the M90 to Perth, then proceed as above.

From the Airports:
From Edinburgh Airport, follow signs for the M90 to Perth and proceed as above. From Glasgow Airport join the M8, go through Glasgow city centre then proceed as for Glasgow above.

From Aberdeen and Inverness airports – see above.

By Train:
Disembark at Blair Atholl Station. The hotel is virtually in front of you as you exit the station. There is a regular daily service interconnecting with all major Scottish towns and cities.
