Auchterarder HotelsIdeally situated off the A9 just 15 minutes south of Perth and 5 minutes north of Auchterarder and the Gleneagles golf courses.

Kilrymont offers 4 star B&B accommodation in a newly built (2003) detached house with splendid views of the Ochill Hills and Craig Rossie in the foreground.

Tona and Charlie have been involved in the bed and breakfast business for many years having previously run the successful 4 star Corshill Cottage between Stirling and the Trossachs.

They take pleasure in making their guests welcome and are happy to help you plan your visit to this lovely area.

Kilrymont Accommodation

In the house the comfortable lounge has a TV (freeview digital), stereo CD, literature of local interest and a selection of board games.

There are 2 bedrooms - 1 twin / kingsize double on the first floor and 1 double on the ground floor with easy access for disabled visitors. Both rooms are en suite with excellent modern shower facilities.

Breakfasts are a delight - excellent food prepared from fresh produce (Tona is a qualified caterer who previously owned the Myrtle Inn in Callander).
Traditional Scottish breakfasts are offered, including smoked salmon, kippers and all the usual trimmings. Fresh fruit is served daily in season - the region is renowned for its berry fruits.

For evening meals there are several quality restaurants within easy access. We are happy to make advance reservations for our guests - advisable at weekends - and if you wish to enjoy a worry-free meal we would be happy to act as a taxi service.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Kilrymont offers the perfect base for touring and visiting places of interest.
Perthshire is renowned for its scenic beauty and there are many attractive towns and villages to visit. Pitlochry - salmon leap and festival theatre, Crieff, Dunkeld - cathedral - and, of course, Perth itself, the Gateway to the Highlands.
Stirling (30 minutes away) - the old capital of Scotland is steeped in history. From William Wallace and the Battle of Stirling Bridge, through the Battle of Bannockburn with Robert the Bruce, to Stirling Castle itself, haughtily perched atop inland clifftops.

The Castle has played host to many of Scotland's rulers, including Mary Queen of Scots, and her son, James VI who was christened in the castle, and who later became James I of the United Kingdoms. The Castle also houses the Argyll and Sutherland Regiment's museum.
Edinburgh and Glasgow are each but an hour's drive away, or you can take the train from Gleneagles station.

Edinburgh, the capital, also has its share of history and has many good restaurants, theatres, cinemas and art galleries.
Glasgow boasts some fine architecture, both old and new, and supports the arts with fine galleries and the famous Burrell Collection.

The old cathedral city of St Andrews is just over an hour away - and is the home of the oldest university in Scotland.
A day's outing would take you there, calling in at Falkland Palace on your return.

Blair Drummond Safari Park, Doune Castle and the Scottish Antiques Centre are but 30 minutes away.
For the energetic there is hill-walking (the summit of Craig Rossie takes about two hours from the house and the views from the top of the Ochills, Dundee and the Tay Bridges are well worth the walk).

The area abounds in quality golf courses which are reasonably priced - and there are weekly tickets available to play on a variety of courses. For the more dedicated golfer, as well as the famous links at St Andrews, Gleneagles is just five minutes away.
Golfers please note - we can arrange tee times in advance at several local courses - sometimes with reduced fees. Please ask if interested.
