Balnabrechan Lodge - B&B is just 10 minutes walk away from one of
Scotland's best kept secrets ... the award-winning Lunan Bay.
You can enjoy a wonderful walk along the beach, then along the cliff tops
to the small coastal village of Auchmithie.
There you can have a well-earned coffee and home made scone at the But
'n' Ben restaurant which was featured in the Sunday Times "Best Afternoon
Tea Places" and is housed in a charming row of cottages .
Birding
During the breeding season, you can watch the puffins nesting on the cliffs
at Auchmithie ... it is quite a spectacular sight. There is also a lookout
hut for birdwatchers which is filled with lots of useful information about
the wildlife that can be seen.
Dolphin viewing
In addition, dolphins are frequent visitors to the bay in the summer months.
Horse riders and golfers
· For horse riders ... American barn system, sand area, post and
railed fence.
· For golfers ... more than 116 golf courses to choose from including
the world-famous Carnoustie Links (host of the Open Championship in 2007).
