Attractions
If a little northern exposure is what you’re after, Aberdeen is unquestionably one place you must put on your list.

It’s a city founded on granite, as you’ll notice when you see the sheer scale of gothic buildings like Marischal College, or the turrets of Union Street’s Town House. Granite also formed the backbone of Aberdeen’s export industry for generations, and it’s a decent bet to say that wherever today’s visitors come from, there’s likely a good chunk of Aberdeen in the place they set out from.

In latter years North Sea oil has overtaken granite as the main resource, but the place and its welcoming people are as dependable as they ever were. A tremendous sense of history still inhabits the city, in the art of Monet, Pisarro and Renoir in the Aberdeen Art Gallery, in the 500 year old University King’s College and in every corner of the architecture.

But Aberdeen is far from locked in the past. This beautiful Scottish town is a shopper’s delight too. Over 800 outlets, from high designer fashion to authentic local arts, throng along and around the famous 'Granite Mile' of Union Street.

Jurys Inn Aberdeen is located in the Union Square which is Aberdeen's newest and largest shopping centre. Our hotel is the ideal place to put your feet up after a hard day shopping!

And for the gourmet tourist, this most Scottish of cities is a festival of tastes from around the globe. Maybe it’s the seafaring tradition, but whatever the reason, Aberdeen is definitely the place to taste for lovers of great food, be it continental European, Far Eastern, Mexican or a more local experience. Food, sights, warm welcomes and entertainment – they don’t come better than in Aberdeen.
