Giddys Place is a hotel built from our ancestral home in the small quaint fishing town of Donsol, Philippines. In the center of town, our Donsol resort was created with you in mind. Access and transportation are convenient to whale shark interaction butanding in Tagalog, night firefly tour, manta ray scuba diving, night shrimp catching, river kayaking, and other activities.

Modern amenities like wifi, cable tv, restaurant and bar, and spa provide you with a very comfortable and relaxing stay. We have designed four different types of rooms to provide you with the right fit. We strive to make this your perfect holiday home away from home and we are proud of the feedback we get. Dive training pool is open for business, and Giddys Place now offers diving lessons, for guests who wish to explore a whole new world underwater.

Family Room

Perfect for a larger group or a family, specially those traveling with handicapped persons, this is Giddys largest offering and is located on the ground floor. The airconditioned room includes a refrigerator, cable TV, a mini bar, hot water kettle for complimentary coffee and tea, and an intercom to reception. Its private bathroom includes a hair dryer, a bidet, towels and body and hair wash, and hot water for a good shower. Room rate includes breakfast, available between 6 am to 10 am, for up to 4 people.

Deluxe and Standard Rooms

Tailored for a smaller group or a traveling pair, the deluxe room is a smaller version of the family room. The standard room is smaller in size than the deluxe room. The airconditioned room includes a refrigerator, cable TV, a mini bar, hot water kettle for complimentary coffee and tea, and an intercom to reception. Its private bathroom includes a hair dryer, a bidet, towels and body and hair wash , and hot water for a good shower. Room rate includes breakfast, available between 6 am to 10 am, for up to 2 people.

Dining

The Butanding Bar and Restaurant is the first establishment to open in Donsol at 6am, and the last to close at 1AM. The restaurant serves quality cuisine all year round. Our bar has a well stock assortment of spirits and wines. Try our shooters and cocktails. We serve a great local blend for brewed coffee.

Giddys is also proud to serve the coldest beers in Donsol. All below zero degrees. We are the only ones with Frozen Margaritas, blended ice teas and other blended drinks due to the fact that we have an abundance of clean quality ice by having the only ice maker in Donsol. All part of giving you the best experience in Donsol. The Butanding Bar and Restaurant has the cleanest individual toilets for both men and women.

Diving

Explore a whole new world underwater. Donsol is the perfect jump off point to dive sites available all year round. See our scuba dive tours or take some diving lessons in Giddys Place. We have the only Dive training pool in the area and a resident instructor. Lessons from Bubble Maker to Assistant Instructor are now available anytime in Giddys.

Activities

Scuba diving- is also becoming more popular as Donsol is the best base to dive in San Miguel Island and Manta Bowl, the site to see manta rays and the occassional whales shark in the Philippines. A short trip to a waterfall, a full day boat tour to the neighbouring islands, a visit to the famous perfect cone of the Mayon Volcano, or a dip in Irosin's hot springs, a properly planned Donsol trip can provide you days of unforgettable activities to be remembered for a lifetime.

Directions to Giddys Place Dive Resort

By Air
Donsol is located at the southernmost tip of Luzon, Philippines in the province of Sorsogon, Bicol Region. The closest airport is Legaspi Airport. There are 8 flights daily between Manila and Legaspi and there is 1 flight every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between Cebu and Legaspi. Legaspi and Donsol can also be accessed by land from Manila. The travel distance from Manila to Legaspi is about 500KM and this will take about 10 hours. Respectively, the travel distance from Manila to Donsol is about 550KM and will take 11 to 12 hours of travel. Gladys Place Dive Resort has a 31.1 km from Legazpi Airport.

By Land
Travel from Legaspi to Donsol is by land and this will take about 1 hour. Guests may opt for a quick stopover at the bank, fast food drive through, or toilet. This is free of charge. However, longer stopovers for shopping, sightseeing, and such are subject to overtime charges and your driver will have to contact the office to check if this will be permitted as the driver may have other transfers scheduled for the day.
