| Because many of my flights connect through Clark,
I have had an opportunity to try several of the hotels in Angeles.
The Dollhouse hotel has had the most comfortable room I have experienced.
Lots of storage for your clothes, a good desk for a working area,
over-sized bed with a truly comfortable mattress (the first I have
found in AC, usually the beds in this city are so hard!), electric
pot for hot water.
The room is not very large (I had the smallest they offered), but
it was plenty big for my needs, however it was rather dark. Most
of the floor space is taken up by the over-sized bed. The bathroom
was fine and included amenities such as toothbrushes and shampoo
at no additional charge.
The only meal I had at the hotel was breakfast and it was fine,
but nothing exceptional. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool
appeared closed during my stay. This is a small hotel with only
6 rooms, right in the heart of the entertainment district.
Be advised that it is a walking street only in the evening, but
if you arrive late and the driver can not convince the guard to
let you through in a car so you can unload your luggage, a couple
hundred PHP will get the gate open.
Although this hotel cost more than I usually like to spend for
a room in this city, the exceptional comfort helps make up for the
cost. |
