Commissioned in 1914 by Count von Schwerin for his fiancée, Margarethe von Heinitz. In 1996 this German castle was turned into a private owned Hotel with 10 rooms. Additional 6 Rooms, a Gourmet restaurant “Leo’s at the Castle”, a new Kitchen and a Wine Cellar as well as a new Swimming pool next to the “Pool Side Deluxe Rooms” were finished in May 2000.

The Heinitzburg today offers 16 spacious generously appointed en-suite rooms, each with its own superb view.

Windhoek, the gateway and capital of the country, lies 1689 m above sea level, embedded by the “Khomas Highland”. Hotel Heinitzburg is situated on the “Luxury Hill”, five minutes drive from the city center, overlooking the capital and it’s remarkable highlands.

The Road leading into Windhoek is called Sam Nujoma Drive. Once in Windhoek, turn to your left, off Sam Nujoma Drive, into Heinitzburg Street. Our street address is Heinitzburg Street number 22.
