Omaruru is famous for ‘Tikolosh’, the wood carvers. The finest chocolates are hand made in Omaruru by the Dorgeloh family. Kristall Kellerei is the local Omaruru winery, ample water and Namibian sunshine make their wines an excellent gift to take home.

A big variety of birds attract ornithologists from all over the world to the Erongo mountains. Collectors of minerals choose the Brandberg near Omaruru to extend their collection. The ‘Wronsky House’ hosts a museum which is a must for historians. The Franke Tower was erected by the German community of Omaruru in 1904, in memory of General Franke for his help, when the Herero encircled the town. ‘Bliss’ in ‘Zeraua’ street, is famous for the talented Chris Johnston and his photography. Bliss also is for the collector of antiques.

Omaruru is home to about 4o artists. At the ‘Nawa-nawa’ Art Gallery at Kashana, you will find exquisite art showcasing one of the best talent in the country. The complete building is made of recycled material, built by Trevor Nott.
