Reviews of Desert Homestead in Sossusvlei Namibia

Approx. half an hour's drive from the entrance to Sossusvlei is the Desert Homestead Lodge. After the welcome drink, Mary showed us to our room. The lodge consists of 20 bungalows. The bungalow is equipped with a double bed, desk and chair and an open wardrobe, we liked the open bathroom with shower. The savannah grass intrigued us very much, especially at sunset. We spent the afternoon in the pool; we enjoyed the total silence there, we had a good 3 course meal. At night we could well leave the side windows of the bungalow open, so go through something that could wind. The night sky was a dream; we sat up long into the night outside on our patio. Breakfast was good, eggs were cooked to request, staff was friendly and we would recommend the Lodge.

The lodge has very nice room / hut with panoramic views and a tastefully decorated main house with pool, location and amenities of the lodge are well described .The rooms were clean, the staff are all very friendly, funny and surprised us one evening with a beautiful musical performance. In the afternoon there was cake, coffee and tea all day. The guided tour at Sossusvlei was expensive, but the riding was low.
