The Girassol Gorongosa Lodge & Safari is located in the Sofala province, in the central area of Mozambique, at the south limit area of the Great African Rift Valley, within the 4000 km2 area of the Gorongosa National Park. The Girassol Gorongosa Lodge & Safari having bungalows, villas and a camping park at your disposal has the capacity to accommodate up to 100 guests.
The installations include bungalows and villas, a camping area, a restaurant, swimming pools, a gift shop, children area, multi-functional meeting room with a capacity up to 140 people, a vast network of trails for safaris, as well as walking areas and gardens.
Gorongosa, which is a privileged destination for those who enjoy the natural life, is a region with a vast diversity of fauna and flora with unique environmental characteristics. Here is located the Girassol Gorongosa Lodge & Safari, which is committed to preserve the ecological integrity as well as the participation of the local communities.
Bungalows
The lodge has at your service 18 standard bungalows, 12 premium bungalows,
a total of 12 double rooms, 2 two-room villas and one two-room Premium Villa,
all equipped with mosquito netting, private bathroom, air conditioning and
safe. The rooms are located at a quiet and cosy area.
Camping
The camping area has at your disposal all the necessary conditions to guarantee
you a comfortable stay, including bathrooms area, hot water showers, grill
and an outdoor covered lounge area.
The Girassol Gorongosa Lodge & Safari has at your disposal a bar and
restaurant, with both international and traditional Mozambican cuisine menu.
It opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant menu includes different
organic vegetables, which will assure you fresher and healthier meals, as
well as it promotes the economic development of the local communities.
Conferences
Integrated in Gorongosa National Park, the Lodge offers versatile meeting
rooms with capacity up to 140 people. The meeting rooms are soundproofed,
air conditioned and with natural light, feature with audiovisual equipment
and Internet access that provide a working environment quiet and reserved.

SafarisAlthough the Girassol Gorongosa Lodge & Safari is opened from April to
December, the best safari season is the dry season, between April and November.
The rainy season in Mozambique is from December to March.
Among its main attractions includes the home of lions, hippos and the viewpoint
of a wildlife sanctuary as well as tours of the Chiringoma limestone cliffs,
Urema Lake and cascades from Murombozi River, in the Serra da Gorongosa, among
other.
