Reviews of Baobab Lodge in Vilanculos Mozambique

The backpackers is located on the beach, it was fun, playing music and chatting with other travellers. The accommodation is ok, the morning staff is friendly and willing but the evening staff didn’t seem to care they were busy chatting the night away with their friends.

The kitchen area was very dirty but the braai area was good. We were over charged for a transfer from the airport to the lodge, the security here is very poor, the gates and the fence are broken and villagers come and go as there please. When booking here ask for a room that is far from the main building because at night the staff and friends are always partying or chatting.

I ended up here by pure chance; there are many positive things about this place. I was allocated a beach bungalow with stunning views of the sea. The staff was helpful and serving with a smile all the time, security guards were always there just to make sure that we were safe at all times in the premises.

The bar is stocked to capacity and there is some toiletries and basic food that can be purchased. I met a lot of interesting people at this lodge. You can settle your bill on a daily basis if you prefer or settle it when checking out.
