The staff (and management in particular) are extremely friendly. Although the rooms are nothing special they are very clean and the hotel location is excellent.

Breakfast is good and the restaurant/bar on site serves decent simple snacks.

It is also one of the few places with a pool (even if it's not very large). If and when we return to Ponta do Ouro we will definitely be staying here again.

From start to finish Kaya Kweru handled everything brilliantly. Emails were answered very swiftly (uncommon throughout Mozambique) and the price was great much cheaper than everywhere else.

I had arranged a border transfer with them as I was leaving the car at the border (R30 per day and safe). They asked me to call when I was going through Manguzi and they would meet me at the border. I was called back with the 4x4 registration who would be there. Through the border we went and low and behold our pick up was waiting for us. Bags on the back and off we went for a trip of note over the dunes. 20 minutes later arriving at Kaya and checked into a great room (with aircon and showere etc)

Anyway to cut a long story short we had a great stay. The place is perfect for people on a slight budget but want to be in the mix! They are literally feet from the beach and a 2 minutes walk to the main square (very safe) Food was great as was the pool and drinks and the exchange rate to rands is the best in Ponta (Fishmongas restaraunt was close to double!!!!)

This must rate as one of the worst places I've stayed at. Unhelpfull staff, a manager that is just walking around smoking or sitting on his computor, rooms where maintenance must be a swearword, waiters that mix up your billing every day and I mean every day !!

On the roof the unused deck was plain dangerous, with no proper barrier to stop kids going up there, cigarette butts, earbuds, etc. all around the units for the whole week we were there.

Only funny thing we saw was a hosepipe with at least 10 holes/repairs , so much so that there is hardly any water coming out at the front.......
