Overstrand is a village on the north coast of Norfolk in England, two miles east of Cromer. It is a lovely coastal village, which is part of what is sometimes called Poppy Land. It was once a modest fishing station, with all or part of the fishing station being known as Beck Hythe. It has a safe sandy beach and shallow bathing water. You can take a walk along the cliff top to Cromer past the lighthouse, there you will see some outstanding views but be careful as there are numerous landslides due partially to erosion, but also due to the earth being undermined by underground springs which emerge from the cliff face. The Norfolk Broads and the historic City of Norwich, with its beautiful Cathedral, Norman Castle and superb shopping malls are both within easy reach by car. There are also beautiful Nature Reserves at Cley, Blakeney and Morston, where you can take a boat trip to see the local seals.
