Halwyn is an old Cornish farmstead, with the farmhouse believed to be around 250 years old, situated in a quiet and secluded valley on the Lizard Peninsula, and designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Halwyn is located in very rural surroundings, 2 miles from the nearest village and the roads from the village to Halwyn are single track lanes with passing places.
We have 3 cosy and comfortable holiday homes which have been converted from an old barn and the piggery. Bed and Breakfast or half board accommodation is available in the farmhouse which is also our home and we aim to make our guests feel welcomed, comfortable and "at home".
You may well get to meet our "family"; Toffee our very elderly King Charles Spaniel/Yorkie cross breed dog, Somerfield the Border Collie we found in a supermarket car park ( hence the name!!!!) and finally Cefor our ginger cat who just arrived at Halwyn one day and hasn't left since!!
Here you will find peace and tranquillity second to none, passing traffic is a rarity, with only the sounds of nature to break the silence.
The grounds at Halwyn extend to some 2 acres and include a stream, a small lake and beautiful lawned areas as well as many unusual and beautiful sub-tropical plants which grow well here with the benefit of the Gulf Stream.

Halwyn Holidays Accommodation
Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast: On the first floor we have one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and one family room with en-suite shower room. On the ground floor we have an en suite family unit with a double bed and bunk beds.
There is also a small sitting area off the bedroom. The en suite is fitted with a shower cubicle with an electric shower, washbasin and WC. A door from the sitting area gives direct access to an area of our garden.
Dogs are welcome in the ground floor family unit but unfortunately we cannot accept dogs in either of the first floor rooms. All rooms have a mini fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and colour television/video.
You will be offered a choice of breakfast including, of course, the full English option. A picnic lunch can be provided, for a small charge, should you wish, just let us know the night before.
All food is home prepared and we use local (and organic) produce wherever possible. All of our guests have use of our indoor heated swimming pool and sauna (8am to 9pm Easter to end of October half term and 9am to 8pm early November to Easter) and access to our guest lounge with television and DVD and in the winter months a log burning stove.

The Hayloft: The upper floor of a beautiful old stone barn, The Hayloft overlooks the gardens and has enchanting views over the stream and lake.
A balcony entrance leads through to the cosy living room which has colour television and video and overlooks the garden on two sides. The well equipped kitchen provides a fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher and microwave.
The bathroom is fitted with bath, an electric shower over the bath, washbasin and WC. There are 2 bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and bunks.
French doors lead out to a decked balcony with table and chairs. We would suggest that the Hayloft is most suitable for up to 4 adults and 2 children.
