Fakenham is an historic and attractive Norfolk market town situated half way between Norwich and Kings Lynn. It has been voted the seventh best place to live in the country by Country Life magazine. The town’s busy Thursday market starts early in the morning and tends to last until mid-afternoon (depending on the weather). There’s always a bargain to be had at Fakenham Market and the stalls are run by local traders as well as those who ‘do the rounds’ across the region. Be sure to catch the Flea market too – a section devoted to collectors’ items and bric-a-brac. The Market Place is right in the centre of town, so Thursday’s a good time to leave your car behind and catch a bus in and out! Fakenham also boasts a popular Farmers’ Market, which takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month. Fresh local produce, organic food and drink and a wide range of home made delicacies are on offer right in the centre of town.
