The accommodation is relaxed; a peaceful place to stay and an ideal bed and breakfast location for staying in Kent, with historic Canterbury a short drive away.
Upper Ansdore is a medieval house, dating back to sometime in the 14th Century, located in a peaceful, countryside setting with a network of footpaths and bridleways stemming from the doorstep.
Steeped in history, the house retains many original features with guests enjoying a farmhouse breakfast in the oak beamed dining room, furnished with antiques and featuring a large inglenook fireplace.
Cosy en-suite bedrooms are furnished in a country style with some wonderful views across the Duck pit valley.

All rooms have exposed timbers with some having views across the gardens and valley, others towards the field and woods.

Double Room 1
Our double room has a comfortable double bed. This room is on the first floor with views to the rear of the property. En-suite Shower and soft towels included, along with coffee and tea making facilities.

Double Room 3
This lovely room is complimented by exposed wooden beams and boasts magnificent views across the Pet valley.
The bed has been commented as notably comfortable and you can rest assured that a good night sleep awaits you. To make your stay more comfortable we have included those welcoming extras such as Tea and coffee facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere.
This room features an en-suite shower room with warm soft towels.

Family En-suite

Upper Ansdore / Nearby Activities and Attractions
Dover Castle: One of the largest castles in the country, strategically located at the shortest crossing point to continental Europe, Dover Castle has played a prominent part in national history.
Its origins lie in the Iron Age, and a Roman Lighthouse and Anglo-Saxon church can still be seen within the grounds.

Leeds Castle: The Castle is set on two islands on the River Len in the heart of Kent, has been home to royalty, lords and ladies for over 1000 years. Visitors are transported through 900 years of the castle’s history; an eclectic mix of period architecture, sumptuous interiors and family treasures waiting to be discovered.

Mount Ephraim Gardens: Mount Ephraim has so much to offer from the constantly changing gardens to one off special events.
Mount Ephraim is also licensed for civil weddings and its beautiful setting makes it the perfect venue for your reception. We can also welcome corporate and private guests for functions and conferences.

Dymchurch Light Railway: The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is Kent's mainline in miniature.
First opened to traffic in July 1927 as the 'World's Smallest Public Railway' and now covering a distance of 13.5 miles from the picturesque Cinque Port of Hythe, near the channel tunnel, to the fisherman’s cottages and lighthouses at Dungeness.
