Spend your summer vacation in a place that you thought existed only in the pages of a children’s storybook….

Nestled in the centre of the picturesque seaside village Victoria-by-the-Sea, stands the beautiful and charming Victoria Village Inn. Built in the 1800s as the home of a sea captain, the Inn was built to last as most structures were in those times. With original plank floors and genuine Victorian charm, the Inn is still a delightful place to relax and recharge.

When you decide to spend your vacation time with us, you will not be disappointed. Victoria-by-the-Sea is one of the last villages of its kind anywhere in the world.

Victoria hotels

Harrowsmith Magazine named our tiny town one of the 10 prettiest in Canada. We couldn’t agree more.

When you arrive at the Inn and park your car, you won’t need to start it again for the duration of your stay. Walking is the preferred method of transportation when you’re staying in Victoria. You can’t help but relax here , the pace is much slower than you are accustomed. You’ll feel your stress melt away with each breath of salty air and each footprint you leave in the sand.

Victoria-by-the-Sea is the home of unique craft shops, featuring hand made crafts by local artisans, hand thrown pottery, a chocolate factory, live theater, sea kayaking, lobster pound and a lighthouse museum. Of course, like any place on our island swimming and golf are never far away!

When you return to the Inn, join chef Stephen Hunter in our restaurant and sample some of the Island’s best delicacies, including organic produce and seafood fresh off the boats.

Located on Prince Edward Island, Canada’s south shore, we are only a 15 minute drive from the Confederation Bridge and 30 minutes from Charlottetown, Summerside and Cavendish (Anne of Green Gables).

Restaurant
Our elegant, licensed dining room was recommended with two stars out of three in “2007-Where to Eat in Canada” and is one of only a handful of Island locations to receive the distinction. When you sit down to a meal at the Victoria Village Inn, you will quickly see why. Classically trained chef/owner Stephen Hunter is well known for his creative use of fresh and local ingredients.

Meals prepared in our restaurant feature only the finest organically grown lettuces, herbs and vegetables, sun-ripened fruits and berries, Island lamb, and fresh fish and seafood. We are fully licensed and have a well balanced wine selection.

The restaurant is open 5pm-10pm daily from early June until the end of September, on weekends, and for special events year round.

The Victoria Village Inn is a great choice when considering a winter getaway, with private dinner parties , cooking classes, and romantic weekend getaways. There is also lots to do outside with over 60 km of groomed cross-country and alpine skiing just a short drive away at Brookvale Ski Park.

About Us
The Victoria Village Inn has been owned and operated by Stephen Hunter for the last eight years. Before discovering and falling in love with Victoria, Stephen had worked and traveled across Canada and the world. His goal at the Inn has always been, and will continue to be, to provide a comfortable, friendly atmosphere – a place where his guests can unwind, sleep well, laugh, eat, and enjoy all the charms of this tiny seaside village.

Stephen looks forward to seeing you in Victoria. You may even fall in love like he did.
