Our beach house offers all the comforts of home in one of the most beautiful natural settings in PEI. The house is nestled in a grove of spruce trees at the edge of a pristine sea of spectacular dunes.

The house has two screened decks overlooking the dunes and the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The property is comprised of seven acres of land with 320 feet of beach frontage, affording total privacy to our guests.

The restful quiet is often enhanced by the soothing sounds of the surf rolling in from the Gulf on the North or the Northumberland Strait to the Southeast - part of the "land's end" experience.

East Point hotels

The path to the beach winds through the dunes and affords vistas of ponds, forest and pastoral beauty. The secluded private beach is one of the most magnificent on PEI. The wide beach is great for sunbathing and the clean sandy bottom slopes gently to provide excellent swimming. There are literally miles of beach to explore. Shipwatch Dune Beach House enjoys a prestigious four-star rating from Canada Select.

About the Area
Shipwatch Dune is less than 5 minutes driving time from East Point Lighthouse "where the tides meet", and 5 minutes from North Lake, the "tuna capital of the world". The famous Basin Head Beach with its "singing sands" is 10 minutes away, and the Links at Crowbush Cove, a world-class golf course, is approximately 45 minutes. The Town of Souris is approximately 20 minutes and has restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations, hardware store, hospital and various other services. The provincial capital of Charlottetown is 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Numerous tourist attractions, scenic drives, restaurants, etc. are available in the Eastern Kings County area. A variety of brochures for attractions in the surrounding area are provided. Eastern Kings has not suffered from the level of intense development experienced by some other popular PEI beach destinations.

The recently opened Greenwich National Park (approximately 1/2 hour drive from Shipwatch Dune) celebrates the unspoiled beauty of PEI's coastal parabolic dune systems. Its walking trails and interpretive center are aimed at an evolving type of tourism focused more toward the natural features of the Island and its ecology.

Visitors are increasingly attracted by these natural wonders as well as the pure fun of the Island beaches in the summer. The Eastern Kings area offers a delightful combination of the elements of natural beauty and the fun of a summer vacation on Prince Edward Island.
