This area presents many possibilities for vacationers to experience nature first-hand and to enjoy high quality facilities and a wide variety of activities. Miles of sand dunes and quiet beaches border the clean water of the Gulf of St. Lawrence surrounding the Island's north shore. Visitors may enjoy a swim or frolic in the water, or take a pleasant walk along a secluded beach.

The abundance of farming and fishing communities, scenic back roads and heritage trails, natural areas, unspoiled beaches, and century-old lighthouses, create the perfect atmosphere for those seeking a natural experience. Deep sea fishing excursions and seal watching tours are available at several locations along the coast. Wildflowers contrast the verdant greens of the forests and fields, including the Lady's Slipper (our provincial flower) and the lupin in its many shades.
