Welcome!
Ocean Dream Luxury Beach House is Prince Edward Island's only 4 STAR Canada Select™ home that is directly on the ocean, not merely “close” or “within walking distance.” There is nothing between the front steps and the water but soft green grass and a short path through the natural vegetation to the white sandy beach.

With the warmest waters north of the Carolinas, PEI is regarded as one of the world's top ten island destinations (Travel & Leisure Magazine) and is among "1000 places to see before you die."

Living Area
Designed to make for easy and comfortable living, the kitchen, dining and living room are combined into a 30x30 foot area with a 14' high pine ceiling. The furnishings were selected to please the eye, but also to invite you to put your feet up. Over time, we’ve added some unique island antiques, along with paintings and objects from well regarded island artists.

The abundance of French windows makes the living area bright, and offers the fresh ocean breeze throughout. From almost every area in the home, the ocean can be seen and heard, presenting truly breathtaking views. At night, privacy is assured by décor window shades (black-outs in the bedrooms). The thermostatically controlled fireplace makes the place warm and cozy on cooler nights and adds ambiance. Comfy couch, big easy chairs with ottomans, rocking chairs - it’s all good!

There’s a large plasma screen with HDTV satellite programming, VCR/DVD and surround audio all tucked away in an armoire. Forgot to bring a book? We’ve got some. Satellite music choices not enough? Play our CDs. Chess, cards, games for old and young kids are all in place, as are binoculars, a putting matt and a metal detector.

The Deck and Grounds
Indoors and out join at the home’s front door, where a completely screened deck with 10' foot high lacquered ceilings spans the entire front. One side is given over to a glass topped table where breakfast, lunch and dinner under a Casablanca ceiling fan can be enjoyed without the company of flying things. The other side is devoted to cushioned wicker furniture for reading, listening to music through the deck speakers, gazing at the ocean or the stars or the hummingbirds, hawks and eagles – yes, eagles.

Walk a few steps over the lush lawn to the dune’s edge where Chesapeake chairs await your contemplation of the ocean and its sea life. The large lawn provides an area for sunning and games, including horseshoes and badminton. We have grown lilacs, peonies, and other beautiful plants to attract hummingbirds and other island bird life, to keep company with the pheasant population in the heather, gorse and bayberry bush that shelters the perimeter of the property.

The Kitchen
The completely equipped kitchen includes all the essentials, along with a dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave. There’s service for 12 in case of company, deep fryer, lobster pot, glasses for champagne, wine and beer, everything that makes a house a home. The window over the sink looks out to the fir trees and the barn with its antique rooster weather vane. If the scent of lilacs has waned, the giant peonies and roses should still be there.

The Study
In addition to the high speed satellite broad band WI-FI connection and the printer/fax/scanner on the working desk, this room contains a trundle bed. In the desk drawer, you’ll find “office stuff” so that, if you must work, the absence of a paper clip will not be an excuse.

The Bathrooms
The large capacity hot water heater is big enough to allow all the baths to be used at once, with the dishwasher thrown in for good measure. The water is filtered to remove sediment and purified by ultraviolet. Hair dryer? Yes. Giant plush bath towels? Of course. And separate beach towels.

The Bedrooms
Each master bedroom has high coffered ceilings and two windows looking out on the ocean. Each has a queen bed, pillow-top mattress and sheets as smooth and soft as a cruise ship's. Each has an armoire, a chest and a chair, and, unusual for the island, a closet. Each has an in-wall and very quiet air conditioner. Each has black-out shades. The third bedroom has twin beds, also with pillow-top mattresses and luxury sheets.

Features:
This newly built (2006) Cape Cod style home, so thoughtfully and completely appointed, offers a large master bedroom on each side of the house. There are two other bedrooms, providing sleeping space for eight people. Ocean Dream's feeling of peaceful seclusion is heightened by the tall firs that shelter it from the road.

The property and home are surrounded by 7 acres of flowering natural vegetation and are just high enough above the shore to afford unobstructed views of sunrise, sunset and miles of beach in both directions. Ocean Dream is our summer home, designed, built, furnished and equipped for our use and enjoyment. We're happy and proud to share it with you.
