Welcome to our home! This is a quiet rural setting, one hundred metres from the highway at the end of a tree lined paved driveway. The present house contains within it the remains of a house built around 1850. That house was completely remodeled in 1997-2000 to become a large modern home. MacDonald's of Maple Hill B&B offers three large guest rooms on the second floor, each with its own en suite bathroom. Each room is furnished with a queen sized, four poster bed, closet, ceiling fan, writing desk, and locking doors with security chain. Extra cots are available in limited supply for family use.
This property overlooks the junction of the Hillsborough and Pisquid Rivers and is within 100 metres of the Confederation Trail. It is part of one of the oldest family heritage farms on P.E.I. being established around 1778 by Ronald Mac Donald and purchased by him from John and Hanna Stewart in 1792 for the sum of 150 pounds sterling.
It has remained in the family ever since. We are proud of our home, our heritage, and our Scottish roots before our families 1772 emigration. We welcome the opportunity to share what we have with you and know that you will enjoy your stay.
