Welcome to Forest & Stream Cottages - Murray Harbour, PEI. Picture waking up each morning with the soothing sounds of nature surrounding your PEI cottage. Birds singing, squirrels scampering through the trees and the call of a mallard breaks the stillness in the cool morning air. Grab a coffee and walk down to the deck overlooking the lake and smell the freshness. Watch and listen as the still lake is interrupted by trout drawing ripples in the mirror surface. We would like to extend an invitation to share this tranquility and secluded setting that surrounds Forest and Stream Cottages, Murray Harbour, Prince Edward Island. We are pleased to offer a selection of venues; choose your own housekeeping cottage, or enjoy the pampering of Country Charm Bed & Breakfast.

Surrounded by the perfection of nature, you can experience a stroll on our trails, bird watching, row or pedal one of our boats down the lake, try your hand at catching a trout, have a swim, enjoy a bike ride along confederation trail, or just sit and relax with a book and unwind by enjoying the scenery, serenity and Island sunsets.

Our goal is to provide our guests with surroundings that offer relaxation, closeness to nature, the comfort of home with an abundance of activities on-site or very close by. Our six, one and two bedroom cottages have a secluded, quiet and attractive setting snuggled amongst pines and birch trees just off our private lake. The lake is a spring fed lake that has an abundance of trout. You are welcome to fish but you must have a valid PEI fishing license.

You are welcome to use our rowboats and pedal boat supplied with life jackets to explore the lake. You will find nature trails winding along the lake though 20 acres of mixed forest. Confederation Trail boarders our property and can be used for hiking or biking. A playground for the kids and individual BBQs and picnic tables accompany each cottage. Gas BBQ's are also available on a first come first serve basis at a very modest charge for propane.

The housekeeping units provide all the amenities for you to prepare and enjoy your own home cooked meal, or if you would like to take a break from the kitchen, there are great restaurants close by in Murray Harbour and Murray River. We can boast about lots of great beaches nearby too.

Forest and Stream Cottages Accommodation

Forest and Stream Cottages has been hosting couples, families and groups for over 20 years. Our six cottages are very well maintained and are continually being upgraded and improved.

We guarantee that our cottages will rank with the cleanest cottages you will find anywhere in the maritimes. We are very environmental conscious and use all eco-friendly cleaning products. We also strive to conserve energy and water wherever and whenever possible.

The following is a list of the common features of our cottages and property:

· One and two bedroom housekeeping cottages. Sleeps up to 6 people.
· Cottages equipped with stove, microwave, fridge, fully equipped kitchen and all linens and towels.
· Secluded, quiet setting beside spring fed lake, surrounded by 20 acres of mixed forest.
· Our trails connect with PEI's cross-province Confederation Trail.
· Close to beaches, restaurants, golf, seal watching, deep-sea fishing, air tours, and shopping.
· Minutes from Wood Island Ferry.
· Bike Rentals available. Bike into Murray Harbour or Murray River along confederation trail and visit the shops or the local restaurants.
· Laundry facilities available.
· Wireless High Speed Internet available, no charge.
· Satellite TV and DVD.
· Telephone available with limited free long distance in Canada and US.
· No Smoking in cottages. (Smoking is permitted on the screened porch)
· Small pets are permitted. (Ask about our pet policy)

· Ideal for family reunions or other groups. Activity center available.

One and two Bedroom Cottages:
We have three one bedroom cottages. All have two double beds in the bedroom and there is also a new pullout sofa in the living room. The one bedroom cottages will sleep six. Great for a family with children.
Our one bedroom cottages are called: Kozy Corner, Cuddle Doon, and Snuggle Inn.

The kitchens in all the cottages are fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, kettle, coffee pot, Satellite TV and DVD. Dishes and cutlery for 6 people. The screened porch is a great place to sit in the fresh air. Smoking is permitted on the porch. We ask that you do not smoke in the cottages.

All the cottages are equipped with fans; some have ceiling fans and other have portable fans. Outside you have a picnic table and a charcoal BBQ. Gas BBQs are available at a small fee for the propane.

· We ask that our guests refrain from smoking in the cottages.

· Forest and Stream Cottages is an ideal family setting. Bed & Breakfast is also available at Country Charm B&B (same location, same hosts)

Things to do
Where do we start? This page of the web site is very long due to all of the activities available both on and off Country Charm's 20 acre property. That is not to say that you have to participate in all or for that matter any, but I am sure there are activities that will interest everyone. There is always the favorite pastime while on vacation...Just Relax!! Come visit and enjoy our Gentle Island.

Prince Edward Island has all the ingredients for the making of memorable vacations. Pristine natural red and white sand beaches, superb golf courses to challenge all levels, Seal Tours, Air tours, fantastic bike trails, birding, fishing, lighthouses, gorgeous vistas, kayaking, shopping, history & culture, quaint fishing villages and harbours, great seafood, friendly islanders, and many festivals and events.

Staying with us has its advantages. We make sure all our guests see and do the things they like and have an interested in. We will spend as much time with you as you like, to help you plan your time on PEI. We will show you where to find the best beaches, and local beaches where you can find beach glass. We provide tide charts so you know when the best time is to visit the beach.

We can suggest birding locations, restaurants, and help with reservations for dinner, seal tours, air tours, golf, and deep sea fishing. We can suggest the best touring routes, the must see beaches, and the must do experiences. Attending a Ceilidh (Kay-lee) is one of those experiences that you do not want to miss. Not sure what a Ceilidh is? Just Ask!!

We have been the proud hosts of Forest and Stream Cottages and Country Charm B&B for the past 6 years. We bought this great property from Olive and Laird McKinnon. Our philosophy is to provide exceptional service, good value and above all a great vacation experience. Our goal is to have "Raving Fans" not just satisfied guests. We want all our guests to leave PEI with memories that will last a life time.

We were the recipients of the TIAPEI (Tourist Industry Association of Prince Edward Island) Hospitality Award for 2006 and we received the Genuine Island Host designation in 2008 We will continue to strive for excellence year after year.
