Traditional Accommodations
Relax after a long day in the understated elegance of our Traditional Accommodations. Our standard guestrooms are available with either one queen bed or two double beds, and are tastefully decorated with Island antiques and artwork. Unwind in your private bath, and turn in for a restful night’s sleep atop our pillowtop mattresses and European duvets. Located in either The Pavilion or Wellington House, our Traditional Accommodations are ideal for business or leisure travelers.

Upgrade your stay at The Great George and inquire about our Traditional Plus Accommodations with extras such as king sized beds, fireplaces or clawfoot tubs.

Deluxe Accommodations
Our Deluxe Accommodations set the stage for romance! Old world charm and luxury come together in these tastefully decorated guestrooms complete with Island antiques and artwork. Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces complete this Victorian escape, or select an antique clawfoot tub for that authentic experience.

The Great George also has Deluxe Accommodations in the contemporary Stable House. These modern concept accommodations are reminiscent of a large city luxury hotel, but housed in a single heritage house. Our Deluxe Stable House accommodations are furnished with leather furniture, complete galley kitchen, large work space, modern abstract artwork, washer and dryer, Jacuzzi tub and body wash shower. Romantic Hideaway Suites
If you are traveling to Prince Edward Island for a Honeymoon, Anniversary or hard-earned getaway, you owe it to yourself to relax and unwind in our version of luxury. Our Romantic Hideaway Suites have become our signature accommodations here at The Great George. They provide the perfect setting for that special occasion.

Romantic Hideaway Suites have a king sized bed, fireplace, and double Jacuzzi. Our Romantic Hideaways are of unique architectural design with some having balconies, skylights, large Roman Pillars, glass showers, relaxing Jacuzzis, antiques and luxurious furnishings. Each Romantic Hideaway Suite has a special character and atmosphere not to be forgotten.

One Bedroom Efficiency Units
The Great George has a number of options available to the traveler wishing to create a home away from home. Our One Bedroom Efficiencies are ideal for either a couple or a single traveler who will be on Prince Edward Island for an extended period of time.

Located in our heritage Gillis House, these efficiency units have a contemporary design in a Victorian setting complete with large living room, large private bedroom, full sized eat-in kitchen and ample storage space. Hardwood floors, high ceilings and large moldings are present in these guestrooms.

The Great George also has One Bedroom Efficiency Units located in the contemporary Cundall House. Each one bedroom Executive unit features a queen bed, kitchenette and living room furnished with plasma TV, washer & dryer, hardwood floors, modern decor and large windows with plenty of natural sunlight. Perfect for the long-term business traveler.

Efficiency Units
The Great George has Charlottetown's largest selection of Efficiency Units. Ranging from one to four bedrooms in size, these accommodations are perfect for the family or group who wishes to stay together when traveling. These "Totally Yours" houses and suites are an economical alternative for the larger family or group of travelers. Larger and more convenient than a cottage, these efficiency suites offer it all in the heart of historic Charlottetown.

Harris House: A complete four bedroom house with two full baths, large eat-in kitchen, living room, and spacious backyard.

Witter Coombs Suite: This spacious 2 level, 3-bedroom suite is the perfect accommodation for a family, or for a group of friends. The first floor includes 2 bedrooms, full washroom with an air jet tub, sitting area, and kitchenette. The second floor includes one bedroom, a 1/2 bath, and a separate two-person shower. This suite has a private entrance and a lovely view of the Basilica Church.

Town Houses: Large efficiency units with a living room, dining room, large kitchen, washer & dryer, single bathroom, one bedroom with a double bed and a third floor bedroom with two twin beds-- great for children.

Dorchester House: Spacious two bedroom house with living room, full kitchen, sitting room, and washer & dryer. Each bedroom features a walk-in closet and full private bathroom.

J.H. Downe House: With either one or two bedrooms, these efficiency units have a large living room, dining room, large kitchen, washer & dryer, and single bathroom.

Bishop House: Located behind our garden, this separate house has two bedrooms, one and a half baths, living room, large eat-in kitchen, washer & dryer.

Carriage House: The most unique of our efficiencies, this small one bedroom house offers total privacy complete with living room, large eat-in kitchen, full bathroom, washer/dryer, second floor loft style bedroom.

The Perkins Suite
Raising the bar in Charlottetown, The Perkins Suite is the Island's most elegant accommodation. The restoration of this circa 1843 property has resulted with a suite in a league of its own. This exceptionally large two level suite has it all. Full living room with working fireplace, dining room for eight, large kitchen complete with breakfast nook, television room, King sized bedroom with walk-in closet, two full baths complete with double Jacuzzi and separate steam shower - did we mention the private rooftop deck?

This luxurious gem has been Charlottetown's best kept secret and is now available for your comfort and enjoyment.

Luxury Condos
Stay in a historic condominium development in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, next to PEI’s popular restaurant/theatre district, Charlottetown’s beautiful waterfront, with shopping and walking trails only minutes away. The condominium structure was built in the 1860s and over the years has served many purposes, but is famous for hosting the Fathers of Confederation when it was operating as the Cross Keys Tavern.

Come enjoy all the benefits of condo living while you stay at The Great George. Beautiful kitchens, vanities, and furniture-quality cabinetry complete with granite counter tops. All units are air conditioned, with a propane fireplace, and have a common deck overlooking St. Dunstan’s Basilica. Condos can be rented on a weekly or monthly basis with a minimum stay of three nights.

There is a limit of 4 people per condo rental.

Located in the heart of Victoria Row, Fishbones Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill is a summertime favourite on this cobblestone promenade. Serving only the freshest in local seafood and shellfish such as mussels and oysters, the lively atmosphere indoors or on its open air patio is casual and refined. Set to the tune of local jazz, blues, or traditional Island music, Fishbones offers a truly unique Charlottetown experience.

The Gahan House Pub Brewery & Mercantile
Located in an historic downtown property, The Gahan House Pub & Brewery provides a memorable dining experience in a casual yet energetic setting. OUR SPACES:
The Confederation Boardroom, located in the Pavilion House, has all of the modern conveniences required for today's presentations. For smaller groups, the Wellington Lobby, located in the Wellington House, is a quiet and private location for delicate negotiations or intimate gatherings. Our lobby can also be reserved as a hospitality suite upon request.

The Great George is pleased to offer smartboards, as well as high-speed, wireless internet at no charge. We also cover the audiovisual equipment you'll need on-site, with additional audiovisual equipment requirements by request.

Together with a local Destination Management Company, we will work directly with your conference or meeting organizer to plan group tours, team-building events, spousal and children's programs, transportation services, and more.

We also have custom catering menus, focusing on local ingredients, provided by one of hoteliers' Kevin and Kathy Murphy's award-winning restaurants.

Our Location
Canadian Historian Pierre Burton once referred to Great George Street as,"... the most important street in Canada". He was referring of course to 1864 when the Fathers of Confederation walked up Great George Street in Charlottetown to Province House, where PEI became known as the Birthplace of Canada.
