All our cottages are situated 100 feet apart from one another - close enough to visit your neighbor if you wish - yet, far enough away to have total peace and relaxation.

These units are fully furnished with all the comforts of a home away from home

We have compiled a list of FAQ's - should there be anything you wish to add to this section please let us know.

How far away is the beach?
From the main gate of the cottages to the main entrance to the West end of Cavendish Beach is approx. 1500 ft. It takes about a minute to drive there and about 10 mins to walk. From the main entrance to the beach itself would be an additional 10 min. walk.

Do you have to pay to enter the Beach area?
The provincial park costs approx. $17 a day for you to park and use their facilities, however, we have pre-purchased seasonal passes that we offer to you at no additional charge.

Can you see the ocean from the cottages?
Yes you can, however, the ocean is inthe distance. We are not located right on the beach.

How big is the property and the cottages themselves?
Swept Away Cottages is 11 acres in size. Each of the executive cottages is 24 x 28 two stories high. Each of the standard units are 24 x 26 and are single story. Each cottage sits 100 ft apart from one another side to side and 125' apart from one another back to front. Leaving loads of room from your neighbors and room to play.

Are there Laundry services available on the property?
Located in the main office area is a private entrance for guest laundry, there you will find 2 washers and 2 dryers for guest use. These are coin operated per load. You may provide your own laundry detergent and fabric softner.

Are pets permitted on the property?
Due to unfortunate events in the past with several pets, we no longer accept pets to stay with us upon the property. Should friends or relatives visiting the property bring along their pets, we ask that they leash them up outside, they are not permitted within the units. They must also clean up after their pets any gifts they might have left behind.

What Items do we need to pack for our vacation?
All linens, towels, cooking utensils, ect have been provided for your stay. We have various toys, games, and books for the children to borrow. Should you wish to pack your bikes there's lots of space for them to ride or there's a trail accross the street from the property to explore. There are grocery stores & a liquor store available within a few minutes of the cottages. So pack lightly and remember your sunscreen and join us for a fun filled summer vacation.

Getting to Swept Away Cottages
There are several scenic routes from both the bridge and the ferry, we have compiled a route that we feel is the most direct route to our cottages.

Directions From Confederation Bridge:
Follow Rte. 1 onto Rte. 1A - Heading towards Summerside. Follow through for about 19 kms, you'll cross a small bridge called Dunk River, take the first right onto Rte. 8 (Freetown) follow this through and you'll come out at Hwy. 2- Turn right and go down about 2 kms and take the first left onto Rte. 254 (Rattenbury Rd) (Please note that 254 also runs south onto the Mill Rd. this will take you back to the bridge.) Follow the Rattenbury until the very end, you will come out at Rte. 6, follow this down we are the second right hand turn at Simpson Mill Rd.

Directions from Wood Islands Ferry:
Once you have arrived across the Ferry you'll need to go Northwest onto the Transcanada Highway 1. Follow this until you come to Hwy. 2 (approx 27 miles) Follow Hwy. 2 - heading Northwest towards Summerside/Kensington. Follow for about 11.5 miles, you'll come to a community called Hunter River, You'll see signs for Rte. 13. Follow 13 down about another 4 miles, you'll see signs for Saint Anne's/Stanley Bridge.

Turn left onto Rte.224. Follow this down another 4 or so miles, you'll see signs for St. Anne's Lobster Suppers, we are just a little farther down - you'll see a sign for Simpson Mill Road on the right hand side, follow the Simpson Mill Road almost to the end, we are on the right hand side.

Should you miss the Simpson Mill Road, you'll come out in Stanley Bridge, you'll see a shell gas station on the left, take a right onto Rte. 6 - This will lead you into Cavendish, we are the 2nd right hand turn from the Shell gas station. We have both signs on Rte. 6 and at our entrance.

Please drive safely, if you should get turned around, please feel free to give us a call, or if stopping and asking for directions tell them you are going to the old drive in theatre property in Cavendish or it's near the COW's boardwalk. (Most Islander's know where at least one of those are located.)
