Welcome! Almost Home Cottages is located on beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada, 10 minutes north of Charlottetown Airport, 3 minutes to the PEI National Park and sandy beaches, 20 minutes to Cavendish. Almost Home Cottages offers one and two bedroom cottages and a deluxe one bedroom unit. We've been reviewed by Canada Select, an industry led program that provides travelers with a nationally consistent standard of quality and we are proud to maintain a 3 Star rating.

The Cottages
Our cheerful, family orientated, fully equipped cottages are situated on 3 acres of well manicured lawns and colorful flowerbeds. We offer one and two bedroom cottages and a deluxe one bedroom unit. All cottages have a deck, propane BBQ, picnic table and lawn chairs. The deluxe one bedroom unit is wheelchair accessible.

Children and adults enjoy our recreational facilities which include a new 30 foot swimming pool, volleyball/badminton net and hard basketball court. In the evening you can relax with a cup of tea, coffee or a glass of wine in our gazebo while watching the many hummingbirds visiting our feeders or you can play a game of horseshoes.

Almost Home Cottages Accommodation

Our modern cottages are meticulously clean with up to date furnishings. All cottages have double beds in the master bedrooms and double size sofa-beds in the living area. The 2 bedroom cottages contain 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. Our deluxe 1 bedroom unit is wheelchair accessible and boasts a new queen size bed and full 4 piece bathroom.

Cottages contain a fridge, stove, microwave, remote color cable TV and DVD, coffee machine, electric heat with central heat control, bed linens, towels and dishes etc. All cottages have ceiling fans, a deck, propane BBQ, picnic table, lawn chairs and come with a starter supply of dish soap, coffee, coffee filters, tea bags, paper towels, toilet paper, bath soap, shampoo, shower cap etc. For your convenience we offer cots, highchairs, cribs and baby bath at no extra charge.

We are three minutes away from the PEI National Park and beautiful Brackley Beach.

Weekly, long term, and off-season rates are also available. There is no charge for children under 10 years of age.

We regret we do not accept pets.

Smoke-Free Atmosphere: All our cottages are smoke and pet free for the benefit of all our guests. Although smoking is prohibited within the cottages you are free to smoke on your deck or on the grounds around the cottages.

Things to do
Children are most welcome to our cottages, and are free to enjoy the outdoors safely on our playground which includes: swings, slide, teeter-totter, and sandbox full of toys. Older kids and adults enjoy our new 30 foot swimming pool, volleyball /badminton net and hard basketball court.

We are also close to deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, golf courses, lobster suppers and fine restaurants.

Directions from Wood Islands Ferry
When you get off the ferry at Wood Islands, you are on highway #1. Follow it all the way to Charlottetown. You will cross over the Hillsborough River on what used to be our biggest bridge (before the Confederation Bridge). You will see large fuel tanks looming on the far side of the river. Immediately as you come off the bridge you turn right at the set of lights. (Being in the right lane makes this easier!).

You are now on Riverside Drive, also known as The Bypass. Follow this road through five sets of lights. At the sixth set of lights, turn right, sign-posted for the Airport. You are now on highway 15 north. You will pass the airport on your right, then see the sign for Brackley Beach that says 16 kilometers. Go down the road for about 14 kilometers, you will see a turning for Highway 6 on the right and Almost Home Cottages are just past this junction on your left.

Directions from Confederation Bridge
From Confederation Bridge take Highway 1 to Crapaud. At Crapaud, turn left onto Highway 13 and follow to Hunter River. At crossroads at Hunter River turn right on Highway 2 for Charlottetown and Airport. At the traffic lights at the "CAT" dealership turn left and follow road to the end (opposite airport). Turn left at churchyard and follow Highway 15 for approx 15/20 minutes into Brackley Beach.

The cottages are on the left just past Highway 6 (East). Have a good journey and arrive here safely.
