Majestically cradled between the Selinda Spillway and Vumbura Plains; within the famous Okavango Delta and located in an exclusive area overlooking a permanent lagoon encircled by large arboured trees, lies the Royal Delta Lodge.
This magnificent location has sweeping vistas of the Royal Delta Lagoon and expanse beyond, ensuring breathtaking views of wildlife and birdlife, from the surrounds of the lodge.
Accommodation
The lodge features ten luxury safari tents, each with their own private deck and pool, on raised wooden platforms overlooking the languid waters of Royal Delta Lagoon. The tents have been designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding bushveld and create a tranquil ambience offering the epitome of a classic ‘Out of Africa’ Safari experience.
The lodge and suites are decorated in a contemporary style and carefully furnished with a tasteful selection of African artefacts. This juxtaposition of organic textures and rich earthy colours with modern lines invites nature in, and reflects a sophisticated and fresh take on the traditional African Safari, embracing all the amenities of a luxury lodge.
Luxury Suite
Seven carefully positioned luxury tents are perched on raised wooden platforms
offering uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding Royal Delta Lagoon.
Each Luxury Suite boasts a private plunge pool which is the perfect excuse for
a sundowner or night cap, whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of nature at
its best. The fireplace creates a warm relaxing ambiance for romantic evenings
and long cosy nights. The bathrooms are all full en-suite and include his and
hers basins, a shower and a bath tub of indulgent proportions.
Family Suite
Our family suite is located in close proximity to the main areas of the lodge
and boasts 2 bedrooms, each en-suite, separated by a lounge area which overlooks
a private plunge pool. The design and layout of this suite ensures social areas
flow seamlessly whilst retaining privacy when desired.
Honeymoon Suite
Each Honeymoon Suite has a huge bed surrounded by walk-in mosquito netting,
wood fired hot tub, giant round bath, unique romantic turndowns and a carefully
selected blend of textures and colours to embrace the spirit of romance. Located
so as to create a feeling of seclusion and intimacy, these suites have been
designed to offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding environment while still
maintaining individual privacy.
Discovery Tent
Inspired by the Cabinets of curiosities or Wunderkammer of the Victorian era,
the Discovery Room is filled with a collection fauna, flora and other interesting
objects from the indigenous surrounds. This unique room offers guests the opportunity
to learn more about the Okavango Delta and local wildlife, either on their own
or with the assistance of our guides. The key feature of the Discovery Room
is the 3D map of the lodge which allows guests to gain a better understanding
of the layout of the lodge and expansiveness of the Delta.
Explorer's Tent
Reminiscent of a bygone era, the Explorers Room captures the spirit of the early
explorers with a Livingstone-style tent lavishly furnished with authentic antiques,
a wrought iron bed, travel trunks and all the essential equipment for a 19th
century African expedition. Here guests can be transported back in time to the
age of Thomas Baines and experience the Okavango Delta from the perspective
of an intrepid traveller.
Library
The Royal Delta also has a Colonial style Library with a modern twist, where
guests can sit back, relax and peruse a magazine while sipping their morning
coffee, cosy up with a book from our collection, or unwind with one of our world-class
wines after a long day in the bush. With light flooding through the windows
and large comfortable chairs, there could be no better place than this for guests
to retreat for contemplation. Designed to function as a multi-purpose room,
the Library can be transformed into a venue for weddings, celebrations and other
special occasions.
Cocktail Lounge
High ceilings, earthy tones and modern elegance flow onto an open aired deck
with a long cool aqua pool where guests can enjoy a refreshing swim or simply
lounge on sunbeds with one of our signature cocktails while watching the gorgeous
sunsets explode over the Delta. Coupled with exceptional service and decadent
cocktails, the Cocktail Lounge is the perfect place to socialise, unwind and
share the day’ experiences.

Situated on the banks of the Royal Delta Lagoon, the tranquil location of our
