About Mapula Lodge

Mapula Lodge, wrapped around the trunks of the African hardwoods has a panoramic view which engulfs you into the wonders of the Delta. Private decks, shaded under the canopy of the Water Fig Tree and the Albizia, provides you with the ideal ambiance for high tea or sundowners.

Accommodation at Mapula Lodge

This magnificent lodge has 7 twin rooms, 1 double room and 1 family unit. Each room has been effortlessly built on stilts, reaching above the bush shrubs. Each with an en-suite bathroom, complete open air shower and a traditional zinc bath tub. These exquisite rooms either have large double beds or two spacious single beds, a lounge area and private deck.

Activities available at Mapula Lodge

Mapula offers excellent Game Viewing all year round. With Wild Dogs existing in the area for the past few years. Lion and Leopard are also very active in the Mapula Region. Prolific bird life makes this the ideal setting for keen bird watchers.

Where is Mapula Lodge?
Mapula Lodge is situated on a private concession of 12 000 hectares in the northwest seasonal floodplains of the Okavango Delta - the concession borders with the world famous Moremi National Park.

Getting to Mapula Lodge Mapula Lodge is a 45 minute, breathtakingly beautiful, scenic flight from Maun International Airport. One of the air charter companies that we use to do this flight is our sister company, Major Blue Air.

Mapula Lodge has its own airstrip, called Xarakai (pronounced Kari-ki), with the co-ordinates of 1852 south, 22423 east. A member of the lodge staff will collect you from here with cold drinks and a warm smile!
