The flagship accommodation offered at Gunn's Camp consists of 6 fully furnished, deluxe Kenya-style meru tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring standalone baths and outside private showers. Set on raised platforms overlooking the delta plains Gunn's Camp is ideal
for honeymooners or guests looking for a more intimate and personalized
safari experience. All 6 tents are discreetly set within the densely treed island ensuring privacy and tranquility. Each has been traditionally furnished with an eclectic mixture of solid wood and African furniture and offers a lounge area as well as private veranda.
The accommodation area is connected to the main camp via raised wooden walkway crossing the wetlands and magically lit by a series of fairylike lanterns. Guests have access to the elevated bar, lounge and dining room, campfire boma and swimming pool.
Become part of the bustling river life by easing between the papyrus clad banks on traditional 'mokoro' canoes. These are propelled from the stern by skilled 'poler' guides, allowing the guests to sit back and absorb the scenery. For full day trips, Gunn's Camp prepares delicious picnic lunches which can be enjoyed on a Delta island after an exhilarating bush walk.
Explore the wilderness on foot under the guidance and education of your own personal guide. Feel your senses ignite as you become part of life in the bush and encounter game without the parameters of a vehicle.
The camp managers will pack your mokoro with basic camping equipment and food so that you can set out with your own personal guide to find an island where you will set up camp. The evening will be spent preparing dinner around the campfire in the company of Africa's nocturnal wildlife.
A great way to explore the crystal clear channels of the Boro River, motor-boat cruises are organised in time to toast the unprecedented African sunsets while drifting on a lagoon in the middle of the Okavango Delta. Watch as the mutating colours are reflected in the smooth waters, disturbed only by dipping swallows or curious hippos. (Gunn's Main Camp only, unless by prior arrangement and subject to delta water levels)
There is a strict luggage restrictions on the flight of 10kg plus hand luggage in soft manageable bags. Guests are asked to please not to bring samsonite suitcases. During the flight, take in the magnificence views of the winding, papyrus fringed channels of the western Okavango Delta, Botswana - the world's largest inland delta.
